Chapter -5 Forgiveness

Sebastian clutched the flowers in his hands, the crimson pedals shone in the dimly lit sky. He stared up at the clouds that formed around the sun, and exhaled. His mind bolted in numerous directions from Amelia to his parents and the ritual that was coming closer than he would have liked. “Am I ready?” He thought to himself. Deep within himself he knew that to some extent he was but at the same time he wasn’t.
Sebastian ruffled his hands through his locks of silky brown hair and walked along the path to his house. He knew that his parents would be angry with him for bolting out the door rather than excusing himself properly and kindly. “Why do they ask so much from me?” He thought. He has had to abide by the laws of Kindness as a child and since then it was naturally built into him. He did not necessarily think of it as a chore, but sometimes he slipped up by his emotions overflowing his mind; so as not making the clear judgement on how to act.
Sebastian walked up the steps of his home, and pushed the door open gently. There was not a sound his house, he could hear a penny drop if he wished to. He closed the door, and walked around the house figuring that it was best to go to his mother as she was more built on kindness and forgiveness rather that his father that was strictly built on discipline.
“Mom..” Sebastian called out. He heard the smallest amount of movement in the kitchen and continued towards it.
“Hey mom, I’m sorry for walking out the way I did. I brought some roses for you to put in the vase, am I forgiven?” Sebastian asked. His mothers back was turned to him and tensed when he walked in. His mother turned to him with a small smile as she took in the roses in his grasp.
“Of course Sebastian, I understand you’re going through a tough time, not to worry all is forgiven for me.” His mother smiled her pearly white teeth, her dimples coloring her face, and gently walked towards Sebastian. She wrapped her arms around him and Sebastian allowed himself to relax in her embrace. Even though on the exterior he seemed relaxed, there was one thing that plagued his mind. “All is forgiven for me,” his mother said. His father was not willing to give forgiveness, because with forgiveness one does not truly realize their mistakes and expect to be forgiven for all that they’ve done wrong continuously.
“Hopefully it’s not that bad when I see him,” Sebastian thought, even though he knew deep in his gut that it would be.
