I start backing out of the room, hoping no one noticed me. I'm just stepping out of the room and wince as the floor creaks beneath me. Both heads swivel around to face me. Crap.
"Skyler? Would you care to join us?" I hear my dad ask from the living room. I stick my head in the living room and give him my best 'are you serious' look. "No I'm good, thanks for asking. Maybe next time" I say sarcastically.
"It wasn't a question. Sit." Dad says firmly. I walk into the room, but don't sit down. Instead, I lean against the wall, and cross my arms.
"Hi Skyler" Sarah says softly, bouncing the infant, who I assume is her son, on her lap. "Hello Sarah" I say coolly. Dad rubs his temples.
"And we're off to a great start" He mutters. I roll my eyes.
"Ya, so why are you here?" I ask Sarah. I know it's rude, but let's get to the point. Dad shoots me a glare, then looks at Sarah, giving her a nod.
Sarah begins to speak. "I'm moving back into town. California just wasn't for me. My job in California, was taken away by the bank, and Bradley's father, my boss that raped me, disappeared. I couldn't think po anything better to do than to move back."
I process what she just said. "And this has to do with me how?" I question. "Well I was hoping Bradley and I could stay here, until I land back on my feet." She finishes. So that's the baby's name!
"Absolutely, it would be no problem at all" Dad says, before I can shoot down her idea. I narrow my eyes at him, but say nothing. "Oh thank you so much! It means so much to me, really!" She exclaims. I roll my eyes and exit the room, ignoring my father's calls.

Days have passed since Sarah temporarily moved in with us. I've been keeping my distance fairly well, and it's almost as if she and Bradley weren't living here. Well, except for Bradley's obnoxious, incessant crying. Is it so wrong to want to shove a pacifier down his throat?
School hasn't been great either. It gets harder to ignore Blake. And Mckenzie and Ethan are avoiding eachother, and me, like the plague. As for my daily dares, well they've been low-key, juivenile things. Suddenly it's like the thrill in my life is starting to fade, and dread is starting to creep in.
I wishe desperately that things would go back to how they were before. Thrilling, happy, and easy.
I continue to remember how things used to be as I finish rining the shampoo out of my hair. Just as I'm rubbing my conditioner into my hair, and knock on my bathroom door startles me, making me drop the bottle of conditioner on my toe. WHAT THE- "Skyler?" My violent thoughts are interrupted by Sarah.
"What" I say, through cringed teeth. "I was wondering if you could do me a favor and atch Bradley for a few hours while I'm out looking for jobs?" She asks. Oh sure! Let me just smash my head against the wall too!
"Please Skyler, your my last hope" She says. I roll my eyes. Watching Bradley isn't exactly how I want to spend my Saturday. But I know that if I say no, I'll get a earload of a lecture from my dad.
Groaning, I pick the bottle of conditioner up, and pop the lid open. "Fine" I say shortly.

Oh my gosh I never want to have kids! Bradley has been screaming for over an hour! I tried putting him in my closet, giving him a sandwich, putting him on the toilet, which he fell in (whoops) but I got him out quickly. Then I realized he still used a diaper! What five month old still wears a diaper? So I attempted to change his diaper, but couldn't find any diapers, so took his shirt, and wiped it around his waist, like a diaper. I saw it on tv, so it should work.
Then I realized he had no teeth, and couldn't eat sandwiches. So I put some Dr. pepper in a plastic cup and gave it to him. He dumped it on the floor. I had to clean it! Like what the heck?
Eventually, I put him in his crib, and he fell asleep. Currently, I'm watching Criminal Minds, enjoying the peace and quiet. That is until, the doorbell rings, and Bradley's loud cry fills the house again. I swear I am going to kill who ever is at the door.
"One minute" I scream to the person at the door, before running up the stairs, and scooping Bradley out of his crib, holding him with one arm, resting on my hip. This seems to calm him as he lays his head on my shoulder.
I take the stairs slowly, before padding down the hall to answer the door. Standing behing the door, is someone I honestly did not expect to see. Blake. Maybe I should've seen it coming, but I didn't.
"Blake?" I question, almost dropping Bradley. "Hey Skyler" He replies, with a questioning glance at Bradley.
Unfortunately, the new voice seems to startle Bradley, because he begins to wail again. "Ugh Bradley, stop crying your giving me a headache" I say to Bradley. "Wow. You are a fantastic babysitter Skyler" Blake teases. Oh my gosh. Those dimples.
I force a smile. "So, um. can I help you, or something" I ask, trying not to be rude. "Oh ya um, I was wondering if we could talk" He suggests.
I nod my head, and open the door wider. Bradley's cries have almost disappeared, but I don't miss his slight whimper.
We take a seat on the couch, Bradley now sitting on my lap. "So what's up?" I ask, trying to be casual. "Right. So... Why have you been avoiding me for the past week? Did I do something? If I did please tell me, I'll try to fix it and-" He continues to ramble. I almost laugh at him. Poor guy.
"Blake. Shut up. Please." I say, now laughing. Blake does as I say, looking surprised. "You didn't do anything, really. It's just, I'm a non-believer, and I don't believe in happy endings. So when I realized I liked you, it scared me. I've never cared for anyone besides my friends, since my mom died, and I-" I know, I'm starting fall apart, and break down, but I can't stop.
"Skyler. Shut up. Please" Blake says with a small smile. I laugh, realizing how ridiculous and weak I look. I built up my wall, and I broke it down. Nice one, Skyler.
"Skyler, I don't even know how to tell you this, and get my point across, but, I really like you too, and honestly, it scares me a little too. I can't promise you a lot, but I can promise you me, for as long as you want me. Crap, now I sound like someone from a sappy Hallmark movie" He groans.
That. That was... wow. Did he plan that? Surely he did, because that was so sweet. I feel a grin take over my face, and hardly even feel Bradley take hold of one of my fingers, and bite down.
"Anyway the point is, I really like you Skyler, and I will give everything I have to make this work, and-" I cut him off again. This time not my telling him to shut up. I lean forward and press my lips to his.
