"Huh...64 objects...all sleeping in these test tubes...."
Four crossed his arms, watching as many speaker boxes were checking in on the room he was currently in. Rows and rows of large stasis tanks littered the room, each and every one of them contained a single object, floating in their tubes under a induced coma. wires and life support tubes were scattered all over their bodies, each in differing places depending on their body type. Some objects would twitch a bit, however almost nothing went through any of their minds, no dreams, no thoughts.
The speaker boxes of this lab didn't look like ordinary speaker boxes, for they had been modified to fit their jobs as scientists and researchers for Goiky Labs. The mechanical monoliths were now taller, bigger, and had functioning pairs of arms and legs. It was an odd sight seeing these speaker boxes the way they were, almost alien, but most of all uncanny.
Four himself looked just about his old self, but now, he was wearing a nifty white lab coat, for he had came to Goiky Labs as an assistant doctor along side his friend X, their work behind the scenes throughout the years on other experiments and projects would ultimately lead to both of them being promoted to head doctors. Four glanced around, then sighed.
"So..what exactly are we here for?" Four asked a dark colored speaker box, Announcer, who was the older head doctor. "Ah, this here is the stasis facility housing our subjects for Project DreaMaker." The speaker box droned. Four raised an eyebrow, "Project DreaMaker..? but I heard that project died like, 3 times.." The Announcer shook his head, "Project DreaMaker is our most important project, we NEED to restart it once again." The speaker box went up to the tubes of the first series of subjects, staring at them, the almost lifeless beings floating in chemical filled water, their names shown on the bottom bases of their tubes.
L34FY - 002
F1R4Y - 001
1C4 C2BE - 008
FL0W4R - 010
B2BBL4 - 003
P1N - 006
C01NY - 005
Many names. Code names. Soulless names.
Announcer went up to Firey's tube, glaring at the fire creature inside. The liquid was a orange color, indicating it was oil based in a way to make sure he could survive without water, on Firey, many scars, stitches, faded from years and years of experiments, Firey was well under stasis, but his closed eyes had dark and heavy bags under them, a visual sign of his mental stress and restlessness.
"This one..he was designated the DreaMaker during the first iteration of the project." Four pointed out as Announcer stared at Firey's tank. "....and then SHE came along..." Announcer responded, then turned to Leafy's tube, glaring at her. he went up to her tube, placing a metallic hand on the cold glass. "Throughout each and every course with her, 002 was the most passive towards every scientists.... and the most forgiving of every experiment, no matter whether we dissected her, electrocuted her, forced her to kill one of her colleagues....and she was so..kind to every subject..in and outside the stimulation room....she especially grew a fondness for 001...they both were close...then....she..." Announcer then placed both of his hands on the tube, clenching them into fists, eventually letting them slowly slide down the glass surface. "We were almost THERE."
Slight silence filled the room
"Her twin sister...L34FY - 002E...i thought she didn't have her powers...but then she showed signs..." Announcer trailed off, but then turned as X appeared, adjusting his lab coat, he was calm, fiddling a bit with a pair of glasses, pondering a bit whether to actually wear them or not.
X spoke out calmly. "Now now Announcer..I know you are stressed after the first project failed at the last minute..then you tried again...it also failed...." He sighed, then looked over at all of the objects. "But...we can try again...and with US promoted to your rank...we can help to truly make everything work out!" X looked at Four, who rolled his eyes, but smiled.
"Really..." The speaker box stood, straightening up and crossing his arms behind his back. "Oh-Ah, yes Dr. X, with you and Dr. 4's great potential, I trust both of you to take over on the 4th iteration of Project DreaMaker." The other speaker boxes looked, collecting the information they were being presented with.
Four looked around, smirking a bit. "Ah...yes...we'll make sure everything goes much better than before...all of these lab rats...all of this potential..all i've seen..." There was cold, calm, yet sinister malice in Four's voice as he said that, X noticed, but he only sighed.
"Now Four..remember we're torturing them for SCIENCE." X noted.
"Yeah yeah...that's what i mean...for SCIENCE." Four responded.
"Yes..for SCIENCE." Announcer added.
The other scientists chattered a bit along side the three head doctors, every staff member knew of the renewal of Project: DreaMaker, it was such a important project to them, they'd do absolutely anything to succeed in it.
The only beings who didn't respond or could express their feelings to the project within the soulless lab was the objects within their tubes, still under their medically induced slumbers. All the best they could be feeling is a calm before the storm, a sense of melancholic peace as being in their stasis tubes were the only true peace they could get, for they were part of Project: DreaMaker, a hellish science experiment where blood will be spilled, tears will be shed, flesh will be torn, minds would be bended, and pain would be felt.
---------------
(And that there is hopefully the basic premise of Project: DreaMaker! atleast, the very beginning before all the sp00ky adrenaline pumping stuff comes up, calm before the storm i guess jdsakl
another thing, i am pondering if this story will be interactive in some way, just to get the blood pumpin, but still this au was like, just created yesterday as this was posted. hoof.)
