After we gathered our things, Lily took us back to Trey's house. We hopped into his truck and left. Josh wasn't able to see my
(Lily's) bathing suit yet, I was wearing shorts and a cute blue tank top that I also borrowed from Lily.
"So where are we going?" I asked Trey. I was sitting in the back between Lily and Josh, while Kaitlin sat upfront next to Trey.
"It's a surprise." Trey smiled. Thoughts raced through my mind. I hate surprises. Kaitlin and Trey were having their own little
conversations and so were Josh and Lily. I just sat there awkwardly, messing with my braided hair.
"So Jessica, do you have a boyfriend?" Kaitlin was turned around in her seat, facing me.
"What? Oh, no," I laughed. "No, I don't." I glanced over at Josh slightly, he was looking out the window.
"Really? You're so pretty! How is that even possible?" Lily asked.
I smiled, "I don't know, why don't you ask Josh?" Lily leaned over and looked at Josh.
"What?" He asked.
"Why doesn't Jessica have a boyfriend?" Kaitlin asked.
"How am I supposed to know?" Josh asked.
I rolled my eyes, "I just don't."
"Oh, okay." Lily smiled.
Kaitlin turned back around and Lily looked out the window as silence fell upon us.
"Um so, Lily, how'd you and Trey become friends?" I asked.
"Oh my god! Okay, so like it was when we were in 3rd grade okay. And well Trey and I were in the same class. Well, one day we were out on the playground at recess and I found Trey crying. He was such a crybaby. Anyway, I asked what was wrong
and he said his parents were getting divorced. So I told him about my parents divorce. I didn't like it at first, but I got used to
it. I told him it wasn't so bad and that we get spoiled to make up for the fact that they're not there. He stopped crying and
started following me around since then." Lily laughed.
"I do not remember following you around!" Trey protested.
"Oh, but you did." Lily teased. I smiled, remembering the time Josh and I first met. I wish were we still young and Josh and I
were still friends. He acts like we never had a past together, like we're complete and total strangers.
