It was Sunday afternoon and my parents and I had decided to take a trip to town. Ever since my last encounter with John hes been like a ghost. Thomas has made an appearance a few times since we first met and him and my father seem to be becoming good friends. I had to wonder if I had scared Mr. Carrigan away, surely not, he was more frightening when he was flustered then I was. I seemed to always find myself waiting at the top of the stairs when Thomas would come by, and every time I was disappointed when he showed up alone. My parents didnt seem to notice this and I was thankful, they might call for him and send me off to wed him if they knew I was feeling this way.

I shook my head and banished John Carrigam from my thoughts. Today was a beautiful day and my gown was almost as flattering.

My parents were first to exit the carriage and as they did they departed for a little ribbon shop that my mother visited every Sunday afternoon. I however found no interest in following them around so I headed in the opposite direction. I found a nice spot by a large fountain just a few streets down and I leaned against the rails peering down at the cool water,

"Isnt it refreshing?" I nearly jumped out of my skin when I turned and was met by a familiar set of hazel eyes. May was nearly a foot taller then me and almost scooped me up when she hugged me.

"I may be young at heart but you my darling are glowing, have you met someone?" I folded my arms the way I do when I get defensive and May had caught on,

"Oh come on, how long have we been friends? You can tell me anything you ought to know that" I sighed and dropped my arms,

"Okay, I did meet someone but not the way you think. He's so arrogant and cocky, I've never been afraid of anyone but May he terrifies me, and yet I miss him, I dont want to but I cant seem to help myself, he's dangerous and not at all what I'm used to" May smirked and shook her head,
