All Magic Has a Price

Chapter 2: The Evil Queen.

Everyone runs outside as the building starts to collapse, and people all over the place are coming out of their buildings.

"We'll meet in the town square. Let's go!" Ruby says.

We're about to run, but then it stops, and a white kind of smoke comes from the sky, and everyone screams.

We scream, and then I stop, and everyone else does too.

The smoke clears out, and I look down at my hands.

"Emma." I whisper. "Oh my god, Emma!" our eyes are filled with tears, and we hug.

"It all makes sense now." Emma says.

Snow trying to protect me and Emma and my Mom and Dad.

My Mom and Dad getting killed by the queen. Prim and I moving in with Snow and James when I was four and Prim was a week old.

Me and Emma's powers getting stronger. The evil queen coming after us. Me and Emma being strong enough to weaken her powers. Her running off, and then the curse, that banished us to this world.

That woman that I've been living with, that is not my mother.

That's my cursed mother.

Oh my goodness.

I'm a princess, and more importantly, people worship the ground me walk on.

"Dad." Emma says. "We have to find him."

"No, No Emma, we need to find Prim first, and then we'll find-"

"Katniss! Emma!" Prim comes running across the street, right into our arms.

"Oh my god." I mumble.

"I want Mom." I say.

Mom and Dad are Snow and Charming. Well, that's what I call them. They're my Aunt and Uncle but I barely remember my parents, and Mom and Dad consider us their kids anyways.

A car comes speeding down the road. People are mumbling, realizing what's happened.

Time was frozen. I should be twenty, but I'm seventeen.

The car stops with a jerk in front of us and Dad gets out.

"You broke the curse!" he says. Me and Emma and Prim run into his arms.

"But Mom," Emma begins. "Where's Mom?"

His face gets sad. "I have no clue."

"I want to go home!" Prim says.

Everyone starts to join us, everyone agreeing we about wanting to go home.

"I'll send out a signal." Red says. Red, aka Ruby. Mom's best friend, and we call her Aunt Red. "I'll tell everyone to come to New York. Are your powers back?"

I'm about to say no when the ground starts shaking again. Everyone gasps and remains calm, and we all panic when blue smoke comes. Dad holds onto us, but when the blue smoke disappears, my entire body starts tingling.

Me and Emma's hair starts blowing like mad, even though it's not windy.

Everyone stares at us, looking concerned.

And then a jet of water shoots out of my fingertips and hits the pavement, splattering against the tires of Dad's car.

I look at Emma.

"They're back!" she says.

"I'll send the signal, and maybe, if Rumpel has his powers back, we can get a portal or something and go home."
