All Magic Has a Price

Chapter 3: "My parents have been locked in the evil queens cells?"

I'm standing in the middle of the enchanted forest.

How did I get here?

Wasn't there...the queens threat. The curse.

Everything is a blur. Someone is standing next to me. I turn my head, and see a boy my age with curly blond hair and blue eyes.

"Um..."

"Your highness." He bows, and kisses my hand.

"Hi." I say. "Are you a prince?"

He nods. "I must go." He turns around and walks off.

"Wait!" I call. He turns around. "What's your name?"

He smiles. "Peeta Mellark."

He runs off. He's wearing loose brown pants, a black leather shirt, and black boots that go to his shins.

I'm wearing a green cloak over a tan vest thing with a belt around my waist, tan pants, and black boots that reach my shins.

I put my hood up and turn and run in the opposite direction, the way I know the castle is.

People run past me all over.

"Katniss!" I jump and spin around.

"Mom!" I hug her.

"Let's go, this way." She takes my hand and pulls me in the directions of the castle. The guards are at their posts, confused. They let us in, and Dad, Emma, and Prim are standing in the entrance way.

"What happened exactly?" I ask.

"No clue." Emma says. "Last I remember, we were saying goodbye because of a curse."

"That's all I remember too." Mom admits, and me, Prim, and Dad nod.

"Well all we can do is go on with life." Mom says. I'm about to open my mouth to say something when the guards walk in with Rumpelstiltskin's son and Rumpelstiltskin himself.

"My son says that during the curse, which I don't remember, I told him to give you a memory potion." Rumpel says. "I don't remember this, but he has his memories of the last day only. He didn't get all of them. All he remembers is the last day."

"You had a boyfriend." He tells me. "And best friends. You and Emma. Johanna and Annie and Finnick were your best friends."

"Princess Johanna and Princess Annie and Prince Finnick?" I ask. He nods.

"And who was her boyfriend?" Mom asks.

"I didn't catch his name." he admits. Balefire holds out a blue substance that I immediately recognize as a memory potion. "You have to take this."

"Uh..." I hesitate.

"Do it, Katniss." Mom says.

"If it was planned, you must." Dad says.

I cringe and take the potion and stare at it for a long time before I drink the whole thing.

I shiver as the potion starts to work, and then everything comes blasting back.

Peeta's, the quarterback. We fell in love because the football accidently landed on the stands and I sent it flying back and I gave him a concussion. Finnick hit on me, but he's just cocky.

Johanna is pushy but awesome.

Annie is sweet and kind but she's dating Finnick and she lets him be a player because he stays faithful.

We watched Once Upon a Time that Rumpel came up with and Annie found a book after she broke into the library.

Me and Emma believed in magic and then me and Peeta kissed and we broke the curse. Rumpel brought back magic and then he said that Baelfire would have his memories but obviously he only got them of that day, and Rumpel said it's up to me to cast a memory spell and make everyone remember.
