It had been a week since the formal and Lydia was put into hospital after she was attacked on the Lacrosse field. A week since Carmen had blown Stiles off about the Lydia situation. A week since she began feeling guilty about it. She only knew one way to be rid of the guilt eating her from the inside out and that was to drink her problems away in the Beacon Hills reserve.

Carmen was never one to dwell on her troubling thoughts, she was constantly needing a distraction. Whether that distraction was drinking, doing drugs, or having sex with strangers it didn't matter as long as it did the trick. Currently, she opted for all three distractions as the guilt had increased when she discovered that Lydia had escaped from the hospital and was roaming around Beacon Hills naked.

She had avoided going to school due to the fact that she wanted to avoid Stiles nagging her about going and visiting Lydia or helping find her. But, of course, she wouldn't admit to herself that was the reason as to why she hadn't gone to school. During the day and night, she spent her time doing work or letting loose and having fun.

It was late at night and in the reserve, there was no light except part of the moon shining down on Carmen who was lighting up a cigarette with a boy from Devonford prep who was the definition of a rich asshole. But rich could buy things she couldn't afford such as the things they consumed that night.

Carmen's mind was blank as she took a drag from the stick as the boy began to remove her bra as he hungrily kissed under her jaw. It all came to a stop when she abruptly pushed him off of her and stood up to get a better view of a figure running by suddenly.

"What the fuck?" He growled angrily, picking himself off the ground, patting the dirt off his torso.

Carmen glanced back at him, "Don't be such a baby." Then continued to ignore him, leaving him behind and began to follow the figure towards the outskirt of the woods. She couldn't help but wonder if this was Lydia, there was a good chance it was considering if you were running around Beacon Hills lost then this would be the place to be. She stepped out from behind a large tree trunk and then fell to the ground, her cigarette flying from her hands as a moving figure crashed into her body letting out a loud yelp of shock.

From the ground, Carmen lifted her head upwards and saw a very naked Lydia looking down at her in shock, fear, awe and happiness. "Jesus Christ Lyds, where the fuck have you been?" She questioned standing up and pulling the strawberry blonde girl into a tight hug, ignoring her nakedness.

Lydia looked like a mess. Her body was covered in scratches and dirt. Her usually perfect hair was matted and had sticks poking out of it in all directions and her eyes were red and puffy from crying. She shook and began to sob but was unable to form any words. Carmen felt Lydia shaking against her, but being half naked herself she didn't have much to offer the frightened naked girl. "C'mon, let's get you somewhere safe," She sighed and grabbed her hand and lead her further towards the outskirts of the woods where through the trees they saw flashing red and blue lights.

Carmen pushed the branches out of the way for herself and Lydia to walk towards the flashing cop cars. She looked over towards the Sheriff and wasn't surprised to see his son Stiles standing by his side. She knew by now that he was always interested in investigations that his dad was doing and was really nosy.

She watched as his eyes widen and his mouth gaped open in shock at seeing her standing next to a naked Lydia while she was also only wearing a revealing bra and a thong. She gave him a smirk then nodded her head towards Lydia which instantly got him out of his shocked state and shouted out. "Lydia!" Which then alerted his dad and the other people surrounding them. Everyone looked at the two girls in shock until Lydia dropped her hands from her breasts and spoke for the first time since going missing.

"Well - is anyone gonna get me a coat?"

Stiles began to hastily remove his fathers' jacket but failed to do so and stumbled forward, his eyes remaining on the two naked and half-naked girls in front of him. Carmen looked at him in amusement and he attempted to regain his balance and obviously averted his eyes from their bodies to not look like a creep.

The sheriff looked at his son and sighed in disappointment before looking back towards the strawberry blonde and began to walk towards her while removing his Jacket to give to her. "Jesus. Yep, here you go."

"No need to avert your eyes, Stilinski," She said amused approaching Stiles who tried to look anywhere but her face.

His mouth continued to gape open. "I have no idea what you're talking about."

She gave him a smirk and continued to rile him up. "I'd hate to see what you'd do when you see me naked."

He immediately became even more flustered than he thought possible and then his jaw hung further. "When?"

Before he could further question her his father then walked over and offered her a jacket. "How did you manage to find her?"

"I just stumbled across her in the reserve just running around and crying," She told the Sheriff honestly while putting on the jacket.

"What were you doing in the reserve this late?"

She smiled coyly at him. "I like to take nice long nature walks at night. I find them comforting."

He raised an eyebrow at her and just internally prayed that she was doing nothing illegal but decided to not further press the topic due to the fact that her friend was now safe after being rescued by her. "Right, well it's a good thing you found her on your 'nature walk' then, another night and who knows what could have happened."

"Anytime," She smirked. "If we are done here I better get going. Seeya at school, Stilinski."

The two Stilinski men watched as she walked away into the night and Noah turned to look at his son with a raised eyebrow.

"Carmen wait up!" Stiles called and quickly chased after her. She paused in her step and turned to face him, "What?"

"I wanted to apologise for ditching you after you went to the bathroom at the formal, I just haven't seen you since," He told her with sincerity and hopeful eyes.

She rolled her eyes at him. "I don't really care that you ditched me, you were helping Lydia why would I be mad at that?"

"It's just that I thought you were because you haven't been at school since then," He replied in confusion. "And you didn't seem to really care about what happened to Lydia."

Carmen bit her lip in an effort to not snap at Stiles because she knew he was right. To him and others, she appeared to have not cared about Lydia. "I deal with things in my own way," She said attempting to not snap at him.

Stiles felt himself becoming frustrated with his crush at her nonchalant attitude. "Like what?"

"Like ... not coming to school for a few days," She said in annoyance.

"I'm just glad you're okay," He told her. He had been worried about her disappearance just as much as Lydia's. He knew that she would be up to no good when went away and was in just as much of a dangerous situation.

Her eyes began to soften as she realised how much he cared for her but shook away the feeling, not allowing his admiration for her to consume her emotionally. "Just stop."

He looked at her confused. "Stop what?"

"Being glad I'm okay. Worrying about me, wanting me to be okay. Just stop it," She finally snapped. She couldn't handle someone caring for her. It was all so new and foreign to her and she didn't know if she liked it or not. And if she did like it then she didn't want to drag him down with her.

"I don't understand?"

"Why do you always ask if I'm okay?" She demanded, trying to wrap her mind around it.

"I ask if you are okay because I know you're not."

She stared at him blankly as if processing what he had just uttered. "I'll see you at school Stiles."

And he watched as she just walked off into the night. He didn't know if he regretted what he had just said to her or if he was sad that her response was confirmation to not being okay.
