"Tell me more about your home life."
Morrell calmly looked ahead at the mysterious girl who was a common guest in her office from the school's request and the school ensured that she attended each session to her annoyance. Carmen didn't like it when people tried to pry and get personal information from her. She preferred to be secluded and not have everyone know her business.
"It's fine," She simply answered like she did every other time when she was asked the same or similar question.
"We have this same conversation every time, Carmen. I think we both know that is not the answer I am looking for, " Morrell continued and proceeded to note down details.
"If this happens every time then why question again when you know you're going to receive the same answer?" Carmen asked boredly, relaxing back into her seat.
"I ask it every time because I know that there is something to uncover that I could provide guidance with," Morrell answered and placed down her pen. She noticed Carmen's lip quiver slightly in distress, even if Carmen didn't notice it herself she did. Morrell was observant and could tell that the topic caused some tension for the girl.
"If it will sate your hunger for 'helping' me then I will admit that my mother isn't the greatest," Carmen revealed, her face blank.
"Why do you think that?" Morrell questioned curiously.
"Never has been. Wasn't when I was born and she sure as hell isn't now. She enjoys chaos, she's quite a selfish woman, I think that's where I got it from at least. She doesn't care and frankly neither do I. She can do whatever she wants with her life," Carmen told Morrell, idly picking at her nails out of boredom and rolled her eyes up to look at Morrell who appeared to be in thought.
"What about your dad? I know he isn't in the picture anymore," Morrell added.
Carmen snorted in amusement. "What, you think I'm a girl with daddy issues or something?"
Morrell softly shook her head, "I never said that."
Carmen cocked her head. "Implied it. What can I say, I've got the biggest daddy issues a bitch can have."
"I'd prefer it if you didn't swear, Carmen," Morrell said making Carmen smile.
"I'd prefer it if you always weren't so nosy but don't worry Marin, I know it's your job," She smirked at the guidance counsellor who sighed softly to herself.
"You're free to go Carmen. I'm happy with the progress that was made today," Morrell smiled at the teen who just rolled her eyes and swung her bag over her shoulder.
"Whatever, see you round Marin," She gave her a rude smile before slamming the door shut behind her loudly.
The slamming of the door made Lydia jump in fright and that was when they noticed each others presence. "Well, well, didn't expect the psycho of the school to make an appearance to Marin's office so quickly."
"Considering you're already here I expected it," Lydia shot back at Carmen who laughed in reply. "Got me there Lyds."
The door then opened from behind and Morrell stepped out into the hallway. Her eyes flickered over to Carmen, "You can go to class now Carmen."
Carmen smirked at the woman, "Sure thing Mrs M." Carmen looked over at Lydia and gave her a teasing look, "Have fun crazy pants."
☹ ☹ ☹ ☹
The next day when Carmen walked into Chemistry class she looked around in confusion, and slightly weirded out. Stiles and his friends all looked extremely awkward, more than usual, and when she looked to Lydia she looked like she wanted to kill herself and get far away from Scott as she could.
