"Just a friendly reminder - Parent/teacher conferences are tonight. Students below a "C" average are required to attend. I won't name you because the shame and self-disgust should be more than enough punishment," Mr Harris said as he walked down the classroom glancing at Carmen who gave him a sarcastic smile. "Will be a pleasure to perhaps finally meet your parents, Miss Beckett?"

"In both of our wildest dreams," She scoffed to herself knowing the last place her mother would be at would be her parent-teacher interview.

"Has anyone seen Scott McCall?" He questioned stopping in front of Stile's seat and the boy looked up at him, a highlighter cap between his lips. Jackson then walked into the room, the entire class knew what happened last night at the movie store with him and Lydia and the mountain lion.

And for the first time in his existence, Mr Harris was nice to a student which shocked everyone. "Hey, Jackson. If you need to leave early for any reason, you let me know."

"Everyone, start reading Chapter Nine," He said walking to the front of the room then pausing.

"Mr Stilinski. Try putting the highlighter down between paragraphs. It's chemistry, not a colouring book."

With an irritated expression, Stiles spat the cap into the air and caught it in his hand. "What else can that mouth do?" Carmen whispered to Stiles whos head shot up and choked. "It's a joke Stilinski," She told him after a few moments of him regain his breath.

"Right, yeah a joke."

Looking back up from his book at her he said, "Have you talked to Lydia at all today?"

"Nope," She said smacking her lips together.

He furrowed his eyebrows. "Why not? Isn't she your best friend?"

She chuckled softly. "Best friend is pushing it Stilinski. Do I look like a have a best friend to you? Look, Lydia's a fun girl who at least gives school and life a bit of joy but I wouldn't push it or the elastic will break."

"That's a bit sad," Stiles muttered which she heard.

"And why is that?" She questioned cocking her head to the side curiously.

"Everyone should at least have one person they can depend on and have as their best friend. Like I have with Scott," Stiles told her sincerely.

"I'd rather not get close to people. I'm more of a lone wolf," she replied rolling her eyes at the idea of friends. They were overrated in her opinion she was better off being alone and not having to worry about someone else.

Stiles' eyes were filled with pity for the lonely girl. "I still think you're wrong."

"Guess someone will just have to prove me wrong then."

☹ ☹ ☹ ☹

"How's the grounded life going? Snuck Scott over yet? You have, haven't you?" She said once seeing the blush appear on Allison's cheeks. "Tsk, tsk naughty girl," Carmen smirked teasingly at Allison who rolled her eyes.

"Well it sucks and maybe I did maybe I didn't," Allison replied back wearing a smirk of her own as they and Lydia sat down at the table and began to eat. Allison pulled out a big old looking book.

"La Bete de Gevaudan," She began.

"The what of who?" Lydia questioned bored.

"The beast of Gevaudan. Listen. "A quadruped wolf-like monster, prowling the Auvergne and South Dordogne areas of France during the year 1764 to 1767. La Bete killed over a hundred people, becoming so infamous that the King Louie the 15th sent one of his best hunters to try and kill it."
