"It has just been reported that vampire attacks have grew in numbers as of last week over 20 people were attacked but not turned." I heard the lady on the TV reported.

Yes, vampires. It is 2013 and all things mystical have been revealed as the truth when a live broadcast went up of a fight between werewolves and witches in Toronto a year ago. Just two weeks later there were numerous sightings and announcements as each species came out in the public. It is still a fright but people have gotten used to the idea. So far the species included werewolves, witches, elves, fairies, unicorns, and dragons. Though there is still one species that has been revealed but has not yet made an appearance other than what is left of their attacks: Vampires.

We only hear of stories from one vampire named Diana (who is supposedly the spokes person for all creatures) and she explains that the vampires make up the "government" for the mystical creatures with one queen. No one has ever seen the queen but Diana informs that she will be making a debut soon as she is still undecided about the creatures being known.

"Dante, hurry up dude or we will be late." My best friend and roommate, Ryker, yelled, shaking me.

"Alright, give me ten minutes." I replied, getting up and getting dressed. When I was finished I walked in as he was staring at his hand that was caught on fire. "Bout time." He jumped up and we headed out to class.

Our school was the Lorenzo Academy for the Gifted. It was a fairly small school placed in the middle of the forest about 10 miles away from the nearest town which most of our parents lived. It was just one huge building with a courtyard in the middle and tons of halls and stairs that led to different sections of the school. It used to be a small castle in the medieval era but was transformed into a school by the founder Lorenzo. Only those who succeeded in either academics, the arts, or athletics could have the opportunity to come to this school.

Trust me, there was not a lot. There was about 73 students attending and we usually got about 4 or 5 more each year. Here there were no sophomore, juniors, seniors, freshmen. Here we were ranked by skills and could only graduate when you reached Year 8. Which Year you are depends on how you work; as of now I am a Year 5 and have been here for six years. It was very challenged.

"You two are always late," our other friend, Keen, pointed out.

"Not my fault the human does not know how to wake up." Ryker teased, making me roll my eyes.

"Do not worry Dante, we can be lazy humans together." Ash said, giving me a high five which I gave back laughing.

Oh yeah, this school was designed for Mysticals for a long time now(even though we came out of hiding just last year the Mysticals were kept a secret). Out of the 73, about 20 were mystical. Ryker was a warlock as Keen was a werewolf. Also in our group there is Ever who is a fairy, Ty who is an elf, and Yorkie who is also a werewolf. Ash, Riley, and I were the only humans, though I was not exactly human. Just then I heard a loud screech as Makoto came flying in his small form and landed on my shoulder.

"Hey buddy." I scratched under his long neck as he grumbled in pleasure.

"Another thing, keep your dragon's snores down. I could barely sleep." Ryker said, earning a glare from Makoto. Yes, Makoto was my pet dragon. Even though I was a human they classified me as a mystical because of Makoto, saying I am a dragon user.

When we finished breakfast we headed to our classrooms. Girls that passed by would pause and giggle as they looked at Makoto I could even hear some of them mutter "how cute." "Dude, you got to let me borrow Makoto. He hogs all the attention." Ty whined, being the drama queen as always. One thing about elves is that they are very dramatic.
