Chapter 1

*GRACE'S POV*

"Why are you downcast, O my soul? Why so disturbed within me? Put your hope in God, for I will yet praise him, my Savior and my God."

That's the verse I heard my father preach about this morning. My dad, Greg, is a preacher at the local church in London. He's one of the best preachers in the UK, so we get people from all around that come and listen to his sermon. I'm very proud of my father. Him and my mum raised me right, knowing the word of God and raising me in His house.

Being the preacher's daughter, everyone expects you you to do no wrong; that you're somehow perfect. Even though I haven't done anything bad, I'm not perfect. I don't claim to be. No one's perfect, except Him. My dad is very protective of me. Considering I'm his little girl, he had every right too. My mum, Stacy, is wonderful. Her and my dad had been together for 22 years.

Madeline Grace is my name. You can call me either, I answer to both. My church family call me Madeline, while my own family and friends call me Grace or Gracie. You can say I'm popular. I'm the good girl out of my group of friends. I've never smoked, drank, did drugs, or even been to a party. I've never cursed and I always respect my elders. I've severe had a boyfriend because my dad won't let me date, even though I'm seventeen. I don't mind it, no one here has caught my eye.

Putting a strand of my long, brunette hair behind my ear, I stood up. Church was over and I was smiling and hugging everyone goodbye. It was a good service. Looking at the clock, I turned to my dad. "Hey, dad. I was wondering if I can go out for lunch with Danielle, Eleanor, and the rest of the gang?" I asked him.

My dad smiled. "Sure, sweetie. I don't think that would be a problem. But, be back in time for this evening's service."

I nodded and smiled, kissing his cheek. "I won't. Thank you." I said, giving my mum a kiss on the cheek also. "Bye." I said, waving goodbye and getting in my car, driving off.

I blasted the radio, listening to some Cher Lloyd. Okay, I don't listen to Christian music all the time. I change it whenever my parents aren't near. I'm so bad.

Arriving at Nando's, I smooth out my dress as I get out of the car. My long, straight hair was blowing in the breeze as I walked in. I looked around, finally spotting Niall's laugh. He was probably laughing at something Louis said.

Louis is the jokster of the group. He's the oldest, but my parents didst know. Harry is the cheeky one and had luscious curls and the cutest dimples. Beside him was Niall. Niall was the carefree one, the one that laughs at everything, even if it wast even funny. But boy, could he eat! Beside Louis was his girlfriend and one of my best friend's, Eleanor. She was sweet and has the best fashion sense. Danielle was a dancer and she was dating Liam, the sensible one.

Reaching the table, I smiled. "Hi, guys!" I said, waving at them and sitting beside Niall.

"Hi!" They said in unison.

My eyes made its way to a mysterious boy that I didn't know nor have met before. He had dark black hair, which was styled in a quiff. I spotted some tattoos on him and his ears were pierced. Hogs eyes were a dark brown and he had long eyelashes. His cheek bones were sculpted perfectly and I must say, he was beautiful.

My thoughts were interrupted by Harry, clearing his throat. I paid my attention to him. "Oh, Grace. This is Zayn." Harry said, referring to the mysterious boy. "He's from Bradford and an old friend of mine. He recently moved here so he'll be one of us." He said with a laugh.

I smiled at the lad. "Well, Zayn, it's a pleasure to meet you." I said, nicely.

Zayn half smiled. "It's nice to meet you too, Grace." He said, his eyes staying on me longer than a normal person would. It was making me uncomfortable.

To me, Zayn seemed like your typical bad boy. I'm not judging, but that's what he comes off to be. Something tells me I should stay, but do I want to?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
I was in church, not paying any attention to the lesson. I was staring blankly at nothing in particular. I kept thinking of Zayn. It was odd because it's never happened to me before. He seemed to get on well with the lads and the girls. I stayed quiet during the meal, listening to everything the boy had to say.
His laugh was something u couldn't describe. It was cute. He was very attractive, not gonna lie. I made sure to study every inch of him.
Is it possible to want someone so badly, even though you've only spike several words to them? No, I couldn't get attached to Zayn. Something about him was telling me that he was a bad influence.
I true to not think of him all night, but that didn't work. As I laid in bed, I decided I needed to get to know Zayn better. Maybe he isn't the person I take him to be. Even if he was, that wasn't going to make me stop wanting him.
