Chapter 1
"ASMIIIIIRRRAAAAAAAAAA," my mother called me down from the branch that I was currently trying to sleep on. "WHAAAT MOTHER," I called back. "Get down here and you will find out." Damn mom-logic. I clumsily swung down from my perch to face the pointed face of my mother. Everyone said we looked alike but I didn't see it. Her face came to a slant like most elves and her hair was a long, sleek black. I had a round face, like an apple. My hair was golden and wavy. The only similarity is our eyes. Mine are a fierce black. So are hers. At this moment, though, the fierceness was gone and replaced by a soft glow of affection. "You aren't pregnant again, are you," I questioned, eyeing her suspiciously. "WHAT!?!? NO," she shouted like it was an odd question to ask. I mean come on. "WHY WOULD YOU ASK THAT," she shouted. I took my time to answer ," Weeeellll. . . Maybe you should stop being creepy and I wouldn't think you were going crazy from baby hormones!" She sighed, exasperated, and rolled her eyes.
"Saana is here to see you, child!"
"oh. . ."
"Well. . . ?"
"Well what?"
"MY GOD, GO!!!"
I muttered incoherently to myself as I kissed my mother on the cheek and left to go meet my friend from the Northern Forest.
