Alex Rider: I'm Never Going to Be Safe

An alarm went off in the early morning. Alex turned the alarm off right away and quickly got out of his bed and headed to the shower. He was in the US and he was going to a public school so he picked out a pair of blue jeans and a black shirt. It had been a year living with the Pleasures that he was in a better mood. Alex still had night terrors of Jack dying and it usually made Alex's mood bad for the day. Alex usually doesn't eat, drink or talk to anyone for that day.

Alex took a quick shower and ran downstairs happy as he could be. Alex had his windbreaker on as he walked downstairs. Sabina was downstairs already eating breakfast. She was having a bagel and orange juice. Alex went to the fridge and took out the orange juice and a glass. Alex poured some juice into his cup and grabbed a bagel that Sabina's mother picked up for them. Alex put the juice away and silently sat down next to Sabina.

"How did you sleep last night?" Sabina asked.

Alex shrugged. "Normal. No night terrors at least." Alex said drinking his juice.

"Good. Finish up eating and brush your teeth. Almost time to leave." Sabina said putting her glass in the dishwasher and ran upstairs. Alex drank his juice and quickly finished his bagel. Alex ran upstairs to his room and into his bathroom and brushed his teeth. Alex could hear Sabina yelling at him to hurry up. Alex smiled and grabbed his backpack that was on the ground in his room.

Alex ran downstairs where Sabian was waiting and he stopped midway downstairs. He felt like something was going to happen but it went away quickly.

"Alex? You okay?" Sabina asked concerned.

"Yea I'm fine," Alex said continuing walking downstairs and the horn of the bus went off.

"Let's go Alex," Sabina said happy and dragging him outside and locking the door. Both of them ran out to the bus. They lived in a big house out in the country. They had acres of land where they live. They didn't have any pets though.

Sabina and Alex ran out to the bus and hopped on the bus. The bus driver closed the door and started to drive. Alex headed to the back with Sabina. All her friends were in the back. Alex's best friend was also waiting for Alex in the back. His name was Jim and he reminded Alex of Tom.

Alex hadn't talked to Tom in a while since he moved to San Francisco. Alex sat next to Jim and Sabina sat near all of her friends talking to her. Alex ran his hand through his hair which was dyed brown and he wore green contacts. It was a precaution for Alex just in case someone from his past wanted to go looking for him.

Everyone was talking on the bus as they rode to school which was not far away. It was about a 10-minute drive which wasn't long after a while.

"So how you been Alex? Sleeping better?" Jim asked. He knew that Alex would have night terrors of seeing his friend die. The two stories were totally different from the real one to the fake one.

"Didn't have a night terror if that's what you're asking?" Alex said pulling his phone out to see texts from Tom. Alex quickly put the phone away, turning it off. Tom is always wondering what happen to him but Alex never could do it. If Alex ever talked about what happened then he would get flashbacks and possibly have night terrors that night. Sabina knew that and only listened to Alex if he had something to say when she was woken up by him screaming.

"Yea that's what I mean. It sounds like you have been doing better. Not as much of those nightmares to when you came to this school. Remember when you wouldn't get a week's worth of sleep and no food at all. I swear that you were going to pass out any minute the week." Jim said with a smile.

"I did when I got home Friday. I passed out in my room and fell asleep for the weekend and ate a big breakfast Monday." Alex said laughing a little bit. Everyone thinks he anorexia so a lot of Sabina's friends makes sure that he eats at lunch and when he doesn't Sabina finds out and yells at him for eating more.
