Alex was leaning against a brick wall, holding himself up knowing that if he moved more than he would fall to the ground and never get up. He had many wounds that were starting to get infected so there was not much he could do right now but hope that someone would know he was there in need of help. Alex thought about moving but turned down the idea as pain ran through his body and never went away.
About an hour later a dark figure walked down the alley in a rush it seemed like but to Alex he was slow. Alex's vision became blurred and fainted not before the man could catch him in his arms. Alex laid limped in the stranger's arms. Alex felt like he knew him but wasn't sure at all till he felt safe enough to let darkness completely take him away from the pain.
The figure picked Alex up bridal style and took him back to his room. It was a small apartment but with two bedrooms, a bathroom, living room and kitchen it wasn't bad. The figure took Alex into the bathroom to clean all the cuts and change his outer clothes into something warmer. Long sleeved shirt and a pair of jeans later Alex was laying in the second bedroom with covers over him and a few stitches where he was tortured.
Alex had just gotten back from a mission and hadn't gotten any help and now where near the bank to get help. Alex had been found out and tortured for information but no luck. A few days later Alex was able to get out still hurt. He was able to make it to an alley before he fainted into the stranger's arms.
The stranger waited for Alex to wake up. After a few hours, the stranger got up and grabbed an ice cube and rubbed it light against the teen's lips since they were becoming dried and he needed water. It was an easy way without a drip bag and a needle in Alex's arm. The stranger did this for a little bit and then put the ice cube into the water that was waiting for Alex right beside him. The stranger got up and walked out of the room for a little bit since clearly to him that Alex wasn't going to wake any time soon.
Once the door closed Alex started to regain conscious slowly. Alex opened his eyes slowly to the darkroom that he was in. The pain went across his body but it wasn't as bad as before. Alex slowly sat up, he was careful not to agitate his wounds at all. Alex looked around the room and saw that it had no windows but was a bedroom. Alex looked down and saw that he was indifferent clothes as well which was a nice warm long sleeve shirt and jeans that were thick.
Alex looked around more and saw that he was in not a good place. Alex was thinking that maybe a person from SCORPIA had found him and took him to their place seeing as that Alex could fight anyone at all. Alex was going to show them wrong.
Alex got up slowly and walked over to the door, hugging the wall. Alex opened the door which squeaked. Alex knew someone might have heard it so he hurried up as much as he could to find a way out. Alex found out that it was an apartment so it was easy to find a door. The problem was that someone grabbed Alex from behind. It was a bear hug which Alex couldn't move as the stranger moved him backward.
"Let me go," Alex yelled and a hand went over his mouth.
"Stop moving or you are going to hurt yourself even more. I really do not want to restitch some of your stitches." The man had said. Alex didn't pay attention to any of his words and only tried to get out of the man's arms. The man let go of Alex.
Alex began to run but stopped in the corner of the room. He was dizzy and slowly he was turned around to see a man that had blue eyes. Cold blue eyes that had died years ago it seemed like. Alex's eyes watered at the sight of Yassen.
"Yassen," Alex said quietly. Yassen slowly took Alex into his arms. The cold assassin hugged Alex Rider, a kid that had lost hope a lot of times and now it was worse. He wanted to die but Yassen saved him.
"Yes, Alex," Yassen replied and kept Alex close to him. "Come, let's get you back into bed."
Yassen leads Alex into the bedroom that he had woken up in. Slowly Yassen put Alex on to the bed. Alex's eyes were closing already. Yassen put covers over Alex in hopes to keep him warm.
"How?" Alex asked quietly. Alex's eyes were almost closed.
"That's a story for another time Alex. Go to sleep." Yassen left the room right as Alex's breath became calm and in a deep slumber. Yassen started to make some food for both of them. Soup mostly since it had looked like Alex hadn't eaten in a while. Once that was done Yassen ate a little bit of soup with bread.
Alex then walked into the room. Yassen handed him a bowl of soup. Alex whispered thanks. Yassen just nodded.
