Scenario One: Nightmare has noticed that Cross is always trying to get close to him despite of his negative aura. So he decides to test Cross and see how much negativity he can manage with a series of nightmares. But after awhile, he starts to feel a bit bad for Cross and backs off a bit, but the damage has already been done to Cross.
Scenario Two: One night in the mansion the gang decides to dare each other to do things while Nightmare is off doing something on his own. Cross is dared by the rest of the gang to to flirt with or do something romantic towards Nightmare (hug, flirt, give gifts, etc) for a week. Cross (who starts with no romantic attraction at first) begrudgingly does so but after some time starts to feel attracted toward Nightmare.
Scenario Three: Nightmare and Cross sign up to a fighting tournament as a team.
