Emma
We finally make it down stairs. We walk through the kitchen and into the living room. We don't see Caleb or Piper anywhere. I start to turn around to go look else where when we hear a moan come from the couch. I stop and follow Henry to the couch and we both look down at them making out. Piper on top of Caleb. Henry coughs. They don't stop. Henry coughs louder. Still nothing. Henry nudges his sister's shoulder and she jumps up.
"Hey, what's the big idea," she yells.
"Get off him. They need to go home."
Piper sits up and pouts as Caleb grabs his boots to put them on.
Henry takes my hand and walks me to the front door. Outside the sun is setting and the breeze is chilly as it runs over my warm skin. I turn to face Henry, "Today was wild."
He chuckles and puts a stray hair behind my ear.
"Thank you," I stand on my tiptoes and kiss him. He wraps his arms around me and holds me tight.
I hear the door open as Caleb and Piper walk out. Caleb bends down and gives Piper a kiss.
"Text me when you get home," Piper insist before he parts and heads to his truck.
"I love you,"Henry whispers in my ear, "Let me know when you get home."
"I will," I promise and give him one last kiss before I follow Caleb to his truck.
Once I'm in the truck Caleb starts it and pulls out on to the long drive that takes us to the main road.
"Do you mind if we pick up something to eat?" he asks.
"Nah, I don't mind. Just pick a place."
We stop at a BBQ joint on the way out of town. He orders us two plates while I grab us a patio table outside. I take my phone out of my pocket. I don't have any missed calls or texts. I call my mom. She picks up on the third ring.
"Hey, Mom."
"Hey, Hunny, are you still with Caleb?"
"Yeah, we're getting something to eat before we head home."
"That's good. The boys and I ate at McDonalds on our way back from the grocery store so we probably won't cook anything."
"Okay then, I'll be home in about an hour."
"Bye, Baby, I love you."
"I love you too, Mom, bye."
I hang up and put my phone in my pocket just in time to see Caleb walk through the door with our food. He takes a seat and slides my food over to me.
"So you and Piper, huh?"
"Yeah," he says with a shrug, "I don't really know her, but I'd like to. I'm supposed to go back over there tomorrow to play more video games."
"I appreciate you helping me."
"You know I'd do anything for you."
"Is there anything you want to ask me or say to me?"
"He's rich."
"Yeah."
"I kinda knew with the car he drives and all. Are you into that? That he has money."
"It's not his money. It's not even his house. His dad bought him that car. He's not going to be rich being a teacher. And you know I'm not. I don't care about that."
"He's in love with you. When you ran out of that house you should have seen the dread on his face. He bolted out of the house after you and he was gone for so long I didn't know if we should go out there looking for you two. He came in after he found you and grabbed a picnic blanket and went back out there for you. He came back carrying you while you slept wrapped in that blanket. He took you upstairs and came back down. He looked so scared. He didn't fight anymore with his sister. He listened to her and me about the situation you two are in and we figured away around his parents. He was very adamant on not hiding you from them. I also, don't think he's taking advantage of you anymore."
