Just a quick fyi, mi legentibus (please just use Google Translate if you don't speak Latin...) unless stated otherwise, the point of view will be from Meredith's perspective! That's all, and thank you for all your votes and views, please enjoy another chapter of "Second Chances Save Lives"!

Oh Thor almighty, please don't do this to me... Did I really die by tripping and busting my skull open with my fucking tank?! Come on that's so lame! Pfft, just my luck, huh?

A soft chuckle brought me out of my spiraling thoughts. "Oh lordy, I really am dead, and now the judge of my soul is laughing at me... Can this day get any worse?!"

The mirth increased, and now there was another person laughing.

"She's quite the comedian. But she's also fiery, and loves to argue. We're going to have our hands full with this one. I hope all goes well for you two." Aaaaaand now my head hurts. Fuck off, you mysterious voice. "Tut tut, and such a filthy mouth. I'll go ask Carlisle if there was any brain damage. I just simply can't believe such an innocent girl-"
I groaned in pain and annoyance, effectively interrupting the speaker.

"Dude, no offense, but I feel like the Hulk just cracked my spine like a glowstick, and your voice isn't helping my migraine. Could ya be a dear and shut the fuuuck up for a couple minutes - or, even better, try a couple hours?" I randomly heard someone loudly laughing, and a muffled, "I think I'm in love! Who is this chick, and how come we're only just now meeting her?" There was a pause and then, "OW!!! Holy fuck, Rose, I was just kidding!"

I didn't care where I was at that point, all I knew was that my everything hurt, and there was a random hand on my forehead.

Oh, sorry, did I say hand? I meant a block of ice shaped like one.

I struggled immensely to open my eyes, it felt like my lashes were glued together, so, like any other time I felt stressed or generally uncomfortable, I made a sarcastic quip.

"Alright y'all, who decided to play with the super glue, 'cuz this bullshit right here," I clumsily gestured to my eyes with my right hand, "Isn't funny. Shame on whoever thought that this was a good joke, you're no longer allowed to make them. Permanent ban on jokes and other 'funny' stuff." I could hear the guy from before laughing even harder, and I did my best to not smile, I really did, but that dude had a contagious laugh, and a teeny smirk wormed its way onto my lips.

"Amica mea, please, enough with the sarcasm. I understand you are stressed, in pain, and unhappy, but please do not insult my brother. He has not wronged you." I had to admit, that voice was extremely attractive and probably melted my panties. It was soft, with a breathless quality, but was a deep baritone, flowing like honey and smooth like rich dark chocolate.

When my eyes decided to cooperate, and opened, I slammed them shut, my corneas feeling crispy. When the pain receded, I cracked my eyes open, and let them slowly adjust to the near-blinding brightness of whatever room I was in.

The first thing my sight landed on, stole my breath. He. Was. Gorgeous. With rich brown hair that ended at his shoulders, a jawline and cheekbones that could cut glass, a roman style nose and absolutely stunning crimson eyes framed by thick, long, and impossibly dark eyelashes that I was very, very jealous of.

{I'm so very sorry for the wait, and especially over how short this is, but I'm stuck in writers block REALLY badly right now, and a figured a small, short update is better than nothing at all! I'm not happy with how this one turned out, but I doubt I could do any better at the moment. I hope you all enjoy this chapter more than I did! Thank you and have a lovely day/night!}
