IN A TOWN of Monsters and Humans living together, there's bound to be misunderstanding everywhere you look.
Especially since Monsters have dominated the population there. Humans had the fear of being replaced from the pinnacle of the pyramid, which they always assumed was their place. They feared that those so called beasts would one day be a danger to their race. That had always been an issue even before the time that humans began to make their own houses Instead of living in caves.
The reason why Monsters dominate the population in good ol' Sherwood town is because of the Mayor's solution to decrease the amount of complaints reported. His solution is that whenever a human or monster violates the opposite race, they will be Forced to move out of town.
A human girl was satisfied with that solution, she had always been annoyed by the childish actions of her race towards the other.
Unlike the some humans that live here, Fanellape Carson was different . At the young age of 14 she seemed to have a mature mind compared to the other adults. she knows when an argument is reasonable and she knows what's worth fighting for and what's worth ignoring. She likes calling troublesome humans Insolent Simple minded apes, and for the reasonable ones she calls them ' Chosen few.'
She was never really the type who liked to walk to school, she always preferred to let her family drive her there instead.
She sat alone on the backseat with her arms crossed and her legs together, her back relaxed on the cushion while her shoulder leaned on the window. She stayed silent as she eyed any family member that spoke or was referred to.
"Come on Freddie , say 'Mom'." Her mother, Anastacia Carson smiled patiently at the four - year - old on her lap. Waiting for him to repeat after her. But unfortunately he never did.
"... How about 'daddy'?" She asked earning only a blank stare from Freddie. Her smile turned into a frown.
"Freddie, you are now four years old and you still cannot speak! All you can do is nod and shake your head. Look at your sister she began speaking at such a young age--
" please don't drag me into this conversation." She said in a dull tone, which silenced her mother.
" And also." She continued. " if you keep comparing us, one day Freddie would be living under my shadow feeling envious of his big sister, thinking that I'm the Family's favorite and he's just a nobody... Do you really want him think that? "
"I suppose not." Her mother answered, patting Freddie on the head.
"His teacher is pathetic." The father, Lucas Carson sneered as he kept his eyes on the road. " If she can't even teach our child how to speak, then she might as well quit her job!"
"Oh?" Fanellape smirked. " But aren't you just as pathetic?" Her father didn't react, he kept his frown concentrating on driving the family car. This left Fanellape unsatisfied.
"Fanellape Carson! I will not allow you to say such cruel things to your father!" Her mother scolded as she held Freddie closer.
"Don't do the same thing your sister did alright?" Freddie only nodded in response. Just like her father, she didn't react. Her mother telling Freddie to not follow her example of rude behavior left her satisfied. It was better than being compared to anyway.
"I heard that you had a new friend Fanellape." Lucas adjusted the mirror for it to reflect his daughter. Fanellape shrugged. "So what? It's not much of a big deal if I made a friend."
"A MONSTER friend." Lucas spat the word 'MONSTER' like it was poison.
"I don't remember being friends with a monster." She answered, Her father squinted his eyes at her reflection.
