Princess May and Misty left the store and walked to look for a place where they could rest and eat. Neither of the girls have had breakfast.
Along the way, May explained the situation to Misty. She had told her about how she didn't want to get married to the prince and that's why she ran away. May couldn't lie to Misty. She was a bit terrified of the warrior and her mallet. Also, Misty is very smart unlike some other warrior who just left her hanging in the cold.
The two managed to find a decent place where they can rest. Misty brought out a picnic mat so that they can sit down. May noticed that the warrior was deep in thought.
"Is there anything bothering you, Misty?" May asked as she sat down.
"It's just...I feel bad for you." Misty replied as she took her seat. "I mean...if I were in your position, I would have done the same thing, to be honest. I don't want to be married to some guy I didn't trust. I don't want you to do the same thing either."
May was shocked with what the warrior had said. She couldn't believe that she understood her.
"Thanks, Misty. But I guess you'll have to bring me home still, right?" May said.
"Yeah...but only when you want to." Misty said as May smiled.
"Wow. You mean it, Misty?"
"Yup...so...when did you run away?"
"About an hour after Ash left. Actually, I managed to run into him. We battled, but I lost. That means he won't let me travel with him, and I have to go back home. I didn't tell him that I ran away. I told him that dad appointed me to look out for him."
Misty's eyes were wide open upon the mention of the raven-haired boy. She couldn't believe he'd just let the princess be out on the cold all by herself.
"So...did Ash leave you there in the store?" Misty asked. She was already slightly angry about what Ash did, but she wanted to make sure.
"No. He left me in the cold." May answered.
"WHAT?! Ugh...Ash is such an idiot! When I see him, I'll make sure my mallet gives him a whacking of a lifetime." Misty said angrily as brought out her mallet and whacked the snowy ground.
"Misty, it's fine." May said in a soft tone and she calmed down the furious warrior. Misty returned her mallet and exhaled heavily.
"So...you managed to find your way to that store by yourself?" Misty, now calm, asked.
"Nah. I was already lying on a snow bed when some guy helped me out and brought me to the store. He also lent me his jacket, and apparently he also gave me this. I never got the chance to know who he was, though." May replied as she brought out the rose.
"Oooh! Too bad. He's even a really sweet guy. If only Ash-..." Misty stopped before she could blurt out something she didn't want to say. Was she gonna say that she wished Ash was like that to her?
"What about Ash?" May asked as she raised an eyebrow.
Misty blushed and shook off the embarrassment. "I was gonna say if only Ash had done that to you instead of leaving you in the cold."
"I guess you're right. But...what's done is done. Let's just eat!"
Misty brought out two sandwiches as they ate their breakfast.
--
May and Misty were now walking again as they had finished their food.
"So, Princess May, where are we going now?" Misty asked. She decided to follow where the princess wants to go until she comes to her senses and decides to go back home.
