Not a lot happened between me and Malfoy on the balcony last night. There was some making out, and some staring at the stars, and some small talk.
Today, we had potions with Slytherin. I was looking forward to seeing Draco. "Hey, Harry!" Ron shouts as he jogs after me in the hall way. "Where were you last night? You weren't in your bed when I woke up this morning." He says curiously.
"Oh, hey Ron. Erm, I was, uh... heading to the library to catch up on some stuff. Sorry." I lie. It was not a very good lie.
In class, Snape decided to assign us partners with the opposite house. "Weasley and Crabbe, Granger and Higgs, Brown and Flint...." he continued to list of names. "Potter and Malfoy." He finished. "Everyone get to work making the potion. Read the directions this time." He rolls his eyes.
I watch as Malfoy checks the list and goes up to grab the beginning ingredients. Even through the robes I can see his great ass... I snap out of it when he returns. He leans down next to me and whispers in my ear.
"Next time try to be less obvious when you're checking me out. You wouldn't want people to find out..." He says semi-seductively. My face heats up. I begin to chop up the porcupine quills as a distraction.
By the end of the class, one kid had blown up the potion in his face (Seamus Finnigan, as usual), one team had a good potion, Hermione's partner was asleep, and Draco and I's potion had over boiled several times. That may or may not have happened because we were looking at each other a lot.
Ron had been curiously gazing at me and Malfoy a lot, and after class I heard him tell Hermione something along the lines of 'he didn't even complain that he was paired with Malfoy... he almost seemed happy about it'.
I decided to continue to keep this a secret from my friends. They wouldn't approve. But hiding it was getting annoying.
"So what changed?" I ask Draco, out on the balcony later that night.
"What do you mean?" He says curiously.
"You used to hate me, and now you're kissing me on the quidditch field." I smile at the memory.
"I never actually hated you. I just got angry and jealous when you rejected me as a friend on our very first day here." He replies solemnly.
"Gosh, that seems like it was decades ago..." I say as I recall the memory.

-flashback to year one, day one-

"So it's true then. What they're saying on the train." A little blond boy says in a cocky tone. "Harry Potter has come to Hogwarts." He continues. "This is Crabbe, and this is Goyle." He introduces his henchmen.
"And I'm Malfoy. Draco, Malfoy." Ron snickers at that. "Think my name's funny do you? No need to ask yours. Red hair, and a hand-me-down robe? You must be a Weasley." Malfoy sneers at Ron.
He turned back to me. "You'll soon find out that some wizarding families are better than others, Potter." He says rudely. "You don't want to go making friends with the wrong sort." He looks at Ron again for the last part.
"I can help you there." He sticks out his small, pale hand. I glance at it.
"I think I can tell the wrong sort for myself, thanks." I reply. Before he could say more, McGonall steps back in and glares at him.

-flashback over-

"To be fair, you were kind of an arsehole to Ron that day. And he was my only friend." We both laugh slightly, before heading back to our dorms.

K I went back to the scene where Malfoy tries to be friend with Harry for this chapter so please don't let it flop. That was a lot of work, so none of the lines are wrong. You're welcome. Vote and comment please kids.
