I lifted my sunglasses and put them on my head, honking the horn outside of Lyla and Laurence's house.
"Come on!" I shouted.

Lyla exited her front door with a suitcase and same with Laurence, "Sorry, Laurence was taking forever," Lyla glared at him.
Laurence just smiled, and Cadenza stood in the doorway. I walked up to her as the two put their things in my car.
"Be safe, alright?" Cadenza said.
I nodded, "I will."
Cadenza lowered her voice, "Between you and me... I heard that the Greasers were going to the same resort... So, definitely be careful. Don't tell Laurence about it either."
I nodded and hugged her, "See you soon."

Cadenza smiled and I walked away and sat in my car.
"Lyla, tunes," I said, "Laurence, it's a three hour drive, you better have gotten snacks."
Laurence held up a bag full of snacks, "We should stop at the boat and get some drinks," he suggested.

I pulled out of the driveway and Lyla put on Fancy by Iggy Azalea. We got our drinks from the boat, and made our way to The Metelli Summer Resort. Another tradition, every summer, one of us gets to a pick a place to stay for the entire summer. Last year, we went to Bright Port and the year before we went to Scaleswind. This year, I got to chose so I picked an actual summer resort.

This summer is gonna be so much fun...

After three hours of listening to 'Are we there yet?' And almost throwing Laurence out of the car. We finally made it to Metelli Summer Resort.

"When are the others getting here?" Lyla asked.
"Soon, I hope," I said, "Aaron was picking up Aphmau, KC and Katelyn. Travis and Dante got a ride with Garroth, Vlyad, Zane and Kandi. Lucinda, Faith and Violet are gonna be a day late."
"Why?" Laurence asked.
I shrugged, "They're always a day late. On the bright side, I was able to score two houses for all of us. One for the boys, the other for us girls."
"Damn, how?" Lyla asked.
"I have my ways," I smirked, "We should go check in."

We walked to the front desk, got our house keys and waited for everyone else to show up. While we did, we explored, Lyla and I went swim suit shopping.

We wandered the shop and kept denying swimsuits the other suggested. One peaked my interest and I grabbed it, I went into the dressing room and tried it on. It fit perfectly and was honestly adorable.

I walked out to show Lyla and she walked out as well, wearing one that I wish I had picked

"Damn," I smiled, "Slay."
"You to girl, like damn," Lyla smiled.

We paid for the swimsuits, and went back to the house and saw that almost everyone had shown up.

We all chilled for the rest of the day, the parks opens tomorrow and then we'll go enjoy it. Well, everyone else will anyways... Since I didn't have parents growing up, I was never taught how to swim. So, I'll be staying in the shallow end of the pool...

I stood out on the balcony, and looked at the ocean. It was so beautiful, especially at night. Everyone else had gone to bed, but I noticed a bunch of motorcycles at the house closest to us. Cadenza was right... The Greasers more and likely followed us here.
I looked down at one of the bikes, and saw Gene. I glared slightly and walked outside.

"Hey," I crossed my arms.
Gene jumped slightly, "Woah! You scared me there."
"What are you doing here?" I asked, not really caring.
"Wouldn't you like to know," he smirked.
I nodded, annoyed with his flirting, "Yeah, actually I would. You come here to ruin our summer to?"
Gene shook his head, "I've had these houses reserved since January."

I sighed, I got these houses last minutes, and I know the people who own this place... "Yeah well... I got these houses last minute, I know the people who own this resort..."
Gene scoffed, "Miss Princess, she gets everything she wants."
"Why do you call me that? Do you not know everything that I've been through?" I asked.
Gene went silent, "My parents abandoned me and my sister when we were babies, and I haven't seen or talked to her in years. I live in a rundown apartment that I was able to get through working my ass off."
Gene smiled softly and looked down, fiddling with his keys, "It's funny... You're more Greaser then you are Soc..."
"You have a family, who loves you," a tear slipped down my face, "I don't have anyone... So I surround myself with good people, maybe I have the life of some Greasers, but I will always be Soc at heart."

I walked away, leaving Gene standing there to sit with his thoughts. Because what I said, was true.
