Harumi pushed her way up through the rubble and remnants of the collapsed building. She was still in shock from the fall. She thought she would have died from the impact of the collision but the odds where in her favour (somehow), and she managed to make it. As she got atop the rubble she saw some others hadn't quite made it. ‘What is this feeling?’ She asked herself, not speaking a word. ‘Why do I feel like that should be me?’ Harumi looked down at the lifeless body of a young girl clutching onto her mother. She felt a tear run down her face, followed by another, then another until her vision was clouding from the water in her eyes. She fell to her knees beside the corpses and yelled “WHY THEM!? WHY NOT ME!?! THIS IS ALL MY FAULT!?!?!”
Soon people were crowded around the former quiet one.
“Mama, it's the girl that saved us!” She heard a young child yell from the crowd. She looked up to see the family of people she had saved standing at the front of it. They sprinted toward Harumi.
“I'm so thankful that you saved my family! How could I ever repay you?” The young boys mother stated. “P-please… don't waste your time on me…” Harumi replied,voice shaky as tears continued to roll down her cheeks. She grabbed her sleeve and tugged it across her face, removing the tears she attempted to hold in. She stood up and proceeded to climb off the rubble of the collapse apartment complex.
She eventually got down.
‘This is all my fault..’ She thought again as she ran, tears falling off her cheeks and getting swept behind her by the wind. ‘It's my fault these people died, my fault the city got destroyed, all because of my stupid desire to get revenge for my parents death…’ her clouded vision caused her to bump into someone. She couldn't quite make out who it was at first, but she noticed the voice as soon as she heard it.
“Harumi?”
