33-"And when the sixth hour had come, there was darkness over the whole land until the ninth hour.
34-And at the ninth hour Jesus cried with a loud voice, "Eloi, Eloi, lema sabachthani?" which means, "My God, my God, why have you forsaken me?"

God repulses sin. So when He saw his perfect Son bearing the sins of the world on his back—Him becoming sin, He had to look away. His heart was broken. And Jesus has never felt that pain, the pain of God the Father looking away. Nothing compared to the pain he felt when God looked away, not the flogging, not the beatings, nothing. He look unrecognizable. He didn't even look human anymore, but the real pain was when He looked away.
