Oliver could admit that for someone who wasn't sure about their sexuality or their feelings, aCooper seemed pretty comfortable flirting with him. After their first date, Cooper seemed to have been relieved. Oliver didn't plan to ask about it, a part of him thinking he didn't want to know the answer.
Now they were four dates in, and Oliver found himself drawn to Cooper in a way he wouldn't have been when he first met the man.
The way he laughed, his charming grins turning into dorky ones that made Oliver smile back. Oliver noticed Cooper stopped slicking back his hair and let it be it's natural messiness, his hands running through it randomly when he laughed. He wasn't looking as professional and polished as he did at first, he was starting to look like just Cooper.
Oliver loved this side of him, but there was times Cooper seemed anxious. He was very set on about making physical contact where no one could possibly see them, which was rare.
It makes sense. I can't blame him, he has his reputation to think about.
He sighed, squeezing frosting onto a cooled down cupcake. Suddenly uncomfortable with the silence in the shop.
The store bell rang and he made his way to the counter with relief, placing a welcoming smile onto his face.
"Hi welcome to Candy Crush! How can I-"
"Hi Oliver!"
Candi came up and hugged Oliver, shocking him. Behind her, Mason was studying the shelves and containers of candy.
Oliver took a step back when Candi released him, her usual wide smile on her face.
"Oh you look so surprised,"she said, chuckling,"Don't worry, we just came by out of curiosity. Cooper told us about your place when he made the flyers, and we took up his offer to come by."
Oliver blinked."He...told you about my place?"
"Of course!" She raised an eyebrow,"Didn't CJ tell you? He did a whole advertising thing for you, and sent all of us personal messages on how we should come by."
"N-No, I-well, he did tell me and that's why business has been really amazing,"he paused,"but he never mentioned personally recommending Candy Crush to anyone. That's...he's really sweet."
"He can be yes,"she winked," but he doesn't usually like to show it profusely like he has with you though."
Oliver blushed and looked away."S-So what can I get for you? I just finished up some cinnamon crumb cupcakes if you two want to sample them."
Mason came up to the register, plopping down a pound bag of jelly beans, a chocolate bar, and began to study the baked goods.
Candi shook her head with a sigh."That's all for him, I just want one of your caramel lattes and that cupcake you mentioned."
"Of course,"Oliver turned his back to make her latte.
"So where's that little sister I've heard you and Cooper mention?" Candi asked.
"She's at school, Friday's are school days after all. She should be out in an hour though."
Candi nodded, now actually looking around the store and its colorful-ness. She smiled as the smell of coffee wafted in the air, and then a sweet smell when Oliver opened the show case to fetch her a cupcake.
"You have a nice place, it's lovely,"she said, Mason nodding in agreement behind her.
Oliver set down her latte with a blush."Thank you, I try to keep it looking as good as it did the first day it opened."
