ophelia morrissey rode her bike down to the library in search of something new to spice up her boring week. she parked her bike out front and came across a familiar poster. the beautiful blonde's smiling face plastered on it with the words "MISSING" written across the top.
"almost a year, huh?" she mumbled, remembering the warm night vividly.
aria, spencer, emily, hanna, and ophelia all sat in spencer's barn. they were all engaged in conversation except for ophelia. that's how it always was. she was always the quiet one and for some reason, alison enjoyed that. they passed around a cup, filled with something stolen from hanna's house when the music stopped and the lights turned off. aria quickly turned her flashlight on while the girls murmured about what caused it. then a strange noise came from outside.
"something's out there!" aria said.
then, the barn door creaked open. putting everyone into shock. "guys?" hanna whispered as they all got up, ophelia trailing behind. another noise, almost like glass breaking caused them to scream. they slowly approached the open door. when they were close enough, alison jumped out causing everyone to yell.
"that was so NOT funny, alison!" spencer said.
"ali, did you download the new beyonce?" and that's where ophelia tuned off again. she never listened to their music or did what they did. to be perfectly honest, she didn't know why ali offered her a spot in her posse. but when alison dilaurentis offers you something you take it.
alison held the almighty red cup and stared straight into ophelia's eyes. "your turn." ophelia quickly gulped it while all the girls laughed.
"careful, o, take too much and you'll tell us all your secrets." spencer said while ophelia rlled her eyes.
"friends share secrets." ali looked at all the girls. "that's what keeps us close. drink up!" she smiled and laughed.
she shook her head and remembered what she came here for. a book. she grabbed lolita, one of ali's favorites. she tried to concentrate on the book but her mind kept going back to that night. the way ali just disappeared from spencer's barn and was never seen again. the fact that she hasn't talked to the girls she swore were her best friends. or how alison still hasn't been found. she checked the book out and went straight for her bike when she saw aria montgomery, minus the pink in her hair.
"aria? you're home!" she ran up and hugged her.
"ophelia! i knew i recognized that yellow bike! yes, i am home. for good." she smiled and hugged her again. "i just dropped mike off at practice and was going to go grab a bite, you care to join?"
"i would love to but i can't! promised my brother i would be home by 4! but it was great seeing you again!" they hugged once more and she rode off.
she pulled up to her old-timey blue home and saw there was mail. "trevor, i am home!" she went through the mail and saw a letter addressed to her. "i left your mail by the front door! i am going to do my homework!" she ran past her little sister who sat on the couch watching tv. "quinn, i'll start making dinner in an hour!" her room was located in the attic. she sat down and looked at the letter. she gently opened it and looked at the big, red letters.
"hey o! remember the night of broken glass because i sure do! not so quiet after all.
-A"ophelia dropped the letter on the floor and gasped. only one person knew about that night because that one person was there.
alison.
