she didn't dare tell the girls about her text. it was too embarrassing. of course it was eating her up inside keeping a secret this big from her best friends. they already had so much on their plates with therapy and being kept apart from one another.
"you okay?" spencer asked. she nodded and continued to act like she was engaged in conversation. "you still haven't told us when and why you saw jason."
the four girls locked eyes with her. she let out a sigh. "he drove me home from the bus stop. trevor was working and he didn't want me to walk home alone, at night. so can we please drop it! i have to get to chemistry, bye guys." she walked out of the bathroom, slamming the door. she went to her locker and sighed, another secret she kept from them.
the girls sat in spencer's barn, hearing the loud music coming from the dilaurentis house. everyone was engaged in conversation except for ophelia. she just looked at the door and waited for ali. her phone went off and it was a text from ali.
alison: Hey come over, alone.
"hey, trevor needs me home. i'll come back soon." she made her way to alison's when she saw garrett. he was leaning against a tree, almost like he was waiting for her. "hey, have you seen alison?" he just shook his head no. "thanks." she made her way through the crowd of drunk and stoned teens. finally finding alison. she left the guy she was talking to and took her to grab a drink, which she declined. ophelia never found a liking to drinking. "why did you tell me to come alone?"
"because if jason saw all the girls here, he would kill me. so i brought you instead." the name of alison's brother made her heart flutter. always having a crush on him. "stay here, i see a bitch that owes me something." she watched as the blonde got lost in the crowd.
she stood around and waited for her until someone bumped into her. jason. "little morrissey, what a surprise." she felt her cheeks go red as she looked into his bloodshot eyes. "where's your brother? he promised he'd be here. oh well, i think i'll have a better time with you." and like that, they were making out in jason's room. she'd never expect this to happen, especially with jason. the music from outside thumped in the house. he was on top of her, kissing her hard as her hands went into his hair. she lightly pulled his hair, causing him to bite her lip gently. they soon switched with her on top, kissing him gentler. then he stopped. "alison?" ophelia turned around to see a smirking ali, with a camera.
"good job, o. we got all the footage we need. maybe grandmom will take you out of the will now when she sees you sleeping around high and drunk!" ophelia hid her face in shame while jason looked back and forth at them.
"this was all to help alison out?" before she could deny the accusation he yelled. "what would your brother say if he knew you were sleeping around just to help alison out, slut? YOU PSYCHO BITCH! you will regret this!" he walked out of the room, pushing alison as she laughed.
before leaving the room, she glared at alison. never in her life has she hated her more. "i hate you. are you happy now? you satisfied? i'm done playing your stupid game, ali! i'm done!" she ran down the hall, calling jason's name. as she walked out the backdoor where the party was taking place, everyone stared at her.
jason stepped in front of her. he put on a big smile for the crowd but when he turned to face her, it dropped. his eyes were filled with anger as he poured whatever was in his cup on her head. she felt a tear leave her eye. he laughed and turned to the big crowd. "a little kindergartener sneaking into one of our parties? you know what to do." she tried to run out but they all cornered her, dumping beer on top of her as she held in her sobs. she could see jason standing in the corner, watching. talking to some blonde girl.
they were finally done. she was covered in beer, head to toe. she tried her best to run through the crowd, sobbing as she did so. when she finally got out of the dilaurentis yard, garrett stood in the same spot but this time with a smile. she tried her best to run pass spencer's without anyone seeing her like this but hanna opened the barn door. "oh my gosh, ophelia!" soon everyone emerged from the barn.
"who did this to you?" aria asked with anger in her voice. all ophelia could do was sob.
"j-just please forget this. p-please?" all the girls looked at each other with serious faces and nodded. "i-i have to get home." she began to cry again as she ran to her house.
she bit her lip and shook her head, trying to forget the horrible memory. she felt a hand touch her shoulder. she turned around to see hanna. "i know what happened that night." ophelia's eyes got big with fear. "don't worry, only i know. alison told me one because i told her that aria stuffed her bra until the ninth grade."
"a secret exchange?" she shut her locker. "sounds like alison. but hanna please do not tell anyone. i try to forget that night all the time but somehow it keeps coming back to bite me in the ass." hanna gave her a confused look. ophelia looked around and sighed. "A is back and is texting me. nothing threatening like you guys but still putting salt in a open wound. i wanted to tell you guys but i was worried it would upset you."
hanna just hugged her. "it's okay, everything will be okay. but you have to tell them. maybe after school?" she nodded and smiled. "cool i'll have us meet at the brew." hanna left her with a black hole for a stomach. she couldn't focus on anything all day. her mind was either thinking about jason or A or her brother finding out about what happened at jason's party. it was not until she sat at the brew she realized what was going on. hanna was talking to emily while spencer had a conversation with aria. their voices sounded way louder than they were in her head. she couldn't take it.
"A is back." each conversation stopped. spencer was about to speak but ophelia spoke before her. "A texted me something only ali and two people would've known of. jason and garrett. so maybe the NAT club is A!" suddenly, their phones began to beep at once.
"YOU'RE GETTING COLDER! COLDER! DON'T THINK THE GAME IS THIS EASY, BITCHES.
