Firehearted

Chapter 1

My eyes are wide opened. A tear rolls down my cheek. I wonder how I still can have tears. I'm kinda always-crying.

It's 00:40 a.m. and I slept for about 2 hours. When I sleep, I usually have nightmares. They're about my parents. It's three days ago that they died. That this ninja killed them. No, that's not right. They sacrificed theirselves for something called Medallion of Elements. The police asked me about what happened. Did I tell them? No. I know, you'll think Why?. Well, I think, they'd not believe me. I just told them they stabbed theirselves with a knife. I don't care about the big mystery they have to solve know. I'm pretty sure it's not as important as mine is.

I'm laying in a bed in 'Auntie Maria's House for Orphans'. I fell very lonely here. I know, I'm just here for three days, but all the people here radiate a sense of grief.

A knock on my door.

My heart skips about 30 beats.
Who is that?!

Nobody is allowed to leave their appartements after 10 p.m. at my age. Also, who in here would break the rules for visitting me? I must've stayed shired up on my ellbows, because a boy voice says: 'What are you doing in there? Hiding under your bed? I know you're in there.'

Sounds like a warning. But the voice sounds like from a 14-year-old, like me. Should I open? Everything in my brain says no, but my proud says I should open. I don't like the sarcasm in his voice. As if I were a baby. I will open.

The boy has brown-blonde hair and gray eyes. They are so fascinating, I get lost in them.

They turn green. No, that can't be. Now they're red. Not an alien-red, more a warm orange.
I love them.
What?! Why do I have such thoughts?

Then I see his sly smile.

'Wh-who are you?' I want to sound sarcastic. Doesn't work.

'I'm here to tell you the truth about your parents.'
