I look at my phone screen. 5 am. I didn't go to sleep last night, but I was glad to occupy my thoughts with some crazy 8 with Leila and Kai. I sit up in my bed, and wait until 5:05 to get out. I make my bed, making sure everything is in place. I notice one of my baby pink covers poking out. I quickly tuck it in my bed frame and go to my bathroom. I take a shower, wash my face, and take my medicine. Today will be great I remind myself. I have to, or else i'll go into school feeling down. I get dressed. today i'm wearing a white sweater, with pale green overalls that go up to my knees & is a skirt. I always feel my best after I get dressed. Like i'm completed. I put my glasses on, notice a spot on them and have to clean them. I wake up earlier then I need to because i tend to take a little too long in the morning. I go around my room and water my plants. I draw open my curtains, to let some sunlight in. My phone goes off. a text from Billie.
billie: hey guys :D guess who's sick again
I frown, because this is the third time this month. I feel bad for billie, and I start to wonder what could be causing her being sick so often. Maybe it's school. I don't know. I sigh, text the group chat, and put my phone down. I look out my bedroom window. My dads truck isn't here, so i'm guessing he's gone to work. I look at my phone again. 6 am. I go downstairs and see my cat sitting on top of the refrigerator. I laugh and pick her up. I make two bowls of cereal, some toast, and go wake my brother,Jack, up. I pick my friends up everyday so I have to leave earlier to pick everyone up. I eat breakfast with my brother, water the plants that are downstairs, and refill the cats food bowl. I look at my phone. 6:45. I have to get going if i want to make it to school at 7:30. I grab my green Kanken, say goodbye to Jack, and head to my car. I pick up Leila first. "Hey sissss!" She says. "Can we stop to get coffee somewhere? I really need it" I laugh because she always  "needs" coffee. We get it though, because we have extra time. I make sure to get some coffee for Kai and an ice tea and a bagel for Billie. Leila gets an iced coffee and I just have the lemon water that I bring to school
everyday. I pick up Kai next. I hand him his coffee. "thankssss." He said. "I have a math test today. i'm definitely gonna need it" he laughs. finally, we pick up Billie. When she comes out she looks a little pale so i know she's really sick. "Get in the back!" Leila practically shouts.
"How ya feeling?" Kai asks her. "Good!" Billie responds. Leila asks her for math answers, like she always does, and Billie asks me for the aux. I only like some of her songs but it's better than Leila's music, which consists from a wide variety of sad love songs to boy bands. So there's that. I wouldn't really know how to describe Kai's music. But I dont care for it. I listen to a lot of ukulele music, a lot of rex orange county, billie eilish, and allll that. we get to school and Kai and I say bye to Leila and Billie. We have history so we just walk down together. "Ellie, are you feeling ok today?" Kai asked. He knows I get really anxious easily, but so far it's been a good day. "Yeah, just didn't get to sleep much. you didn't either, so i hope that coffee helps." he laughs. we go to class. today is gonna be a good day.
After school, I drop everyone off. It's 2:30 when I get home. My brother should be home in a half hour. During that time I clean a little bit and have some blueberries. I go outside to water the flowers in my garden. This 30 minutes I have are some of the best times of my day. I love my brother to death but, being by myself and hanging out in my garden is always so peaceful to me. I'm doing some homework when Jack gets home. We talk for a little bit, but he's in 8th grade so he just wants to do his own thing. When I go to college next year i'm gonna miss him. I focus back on my homework and at 4 my dad comes home. We talk for a little bit, he asks if I've done all my work, and all the usual stuff. I go back into my room. I watch The Office for a little bit because I love sitcoms. Most people wouldn't expect that from someone like me but I loveee them. The Office is my favorite one, i've watched the whole show at least five times. Jack and I are always binging shows together. I eat dinner with my dad and brother and at 7 I receive a text from Leila.
Leila: i'm coming over.
I make a face at my phone because 7 isn't a normal time I hang out with friends. At least on a weekday. I shrug because I don't mind, and I was bored anyway. Soon I hear a knock on my door. I open it to see Leila with two overnight bags and she looks like she just got done crying. "Hey. I'm gonna need to stay over for a while"
