The Rescue

"Chris do you want to go for a ride? Carmella really needs to stretch her legs." I said catching up to Chris.

"Sure just let me grab High Place's tack." Chris said coming out of High Place's stall.

So Chris and I headed to the tack room. Once we got our tack we went and saddled up High Place and Carmella. We lead them out of their stalls and hopped on.

"So Ray do you think it will be just us for forever?" Chris asked urging High Place to a canter.

"I don't know, sometimes I wish we had someone else to help us with Ashley. She's a real pain in the horses butt!" I said asking Carmella to a canter as well.

After an hour Chris broke the silence. "We should probably head back we said we would groom Nickel and Dime."

"yeah, and we said we would also muck out their stalls." So we turned our horses around and galloped back to the barn.

Once we reached the barn we hopped off and brushed the horses off but didn't wash them because it was the middle of November. Then we put them in their stalls, walked to barn 2 and got Nickel and Dime. I tied Dime to cross ties and went to get her grooming supplies. While Chris put Nickel in an empty stall and went to get the pitch fork so she could clean his stall.

"Someone needs to brush Jackson right now!" Ashely yelled in her British accent.

"Why don't you do it your self Ashely?!" Chris snapped back at her.

Ashley took a big sigh and said "That's what the stable hands get paid for." Then she took long strides and went to find one of the stable hands.

When we were finished we traded items and went to work again.

"Ray... Chris..." called Mrs. Amelia (the owners mom and she is like their mentors through hard times).

"In here with Nickel and Dime!" I shouted from barn 2.

"Can y'all come out here there's someone I want you to meet!" Mrs. Amelia said in a suspicious voice.

So Chris and I put down our grooming supplies and pitch fork and went out of the barn.

"This is Claire Martin. She is new here and she needs a tour around the property." Mrs. Amelia said looking at us like we were supposed to jump from our spots and take her on a tour.

"Yes mam but can I just finish grooming Nickel he hates to be left half way done!" Chris said mater if factually.

"And I need to finish Dime's stall while the other horses are out." I stated.

"Yes, but you must hurry because Claire leaves in two hours." Mrs. Amelia responded.

So we finished as fast as we could. When we were finished we took Claire and showed her around Horse Shoe Crossing Stables. First we showed her the two different big barns. Next we showed her all the horses. When we were done with that we showed her the hang out area. After that we started to tack up Nickel, Dime, and penny so we could show Claire the trails.

Once on the trails Chris and I hopped on and turned to Claire and asked her if they could trot because the two hours were almost up.

So Claire kicked Penny. But instead of soft she kicked so hard that Penny reared and galloped off with Claire still on her.

"Ahhh" Claire screamed as Penny galloped off down one of the trails.

"We're coming just hold on tight!" Chris and I yelled at the same time and galloped off after Claire.
