(Alfred)

I walked through the batcave frowning as I heard those pests known as bat's squawk constantly, I glared up at them as a drop of poo landed onto the ground in front of my foot.

"They have no sense of self control."
I jumped slightly as Ryland apeared in behind me.

He whistled taking in his surroundings. "So, this is the batcave, I was right Slades death-lair is cooler."
He plopped himself on an old chair I had acquired from the atic.

It wasn't a fancy chair just an old folding one, I had insisted that master Bruce sit if he was going to state at set of computer monitors for hours on end.

"How did you get in here?"  I asked getting over my shock.

He didn't appear to be all that concerned he stated ever so casualy.

"You left the entrence wide open."

I mentally scolded myself I had made the rookiest of rookie mistakes.

""Also, who has a secret entrence in a wine celler! to a person who's experienced in the art of hiding your secret lair I'd say that it was way to obvious!"

I shook my head in disbelief "young master, may I just point out that not everyone is versed in such a spessific art, to the average person they wouldn't think twice about it."

"Yeah, that's the whole point!" he yelled laughing.

I watched his body language, he didn't seem to feel on edge or unsafe but i noticed that he had a habit of chewing the inside of his mouth nervously.

"I spoke to bruce" I told him softly.
He looked at me a nervous look shining in his eyes.

"He said he'd like to adopt you, if of course you'd want that."

He stayed quiet for a moment as if thinking about what to say.

"I'd love that!" he eventually managed to choke out.

I reached into my pocket and pulled out a clean tissue for him to wipe away his happy tears.

"Thank you for speaking to him."

I nodded.

I was about to suggest we go back up to the mannor when I heard the batwing approaching.

"Ah, master Bruce is back once again."
I smiled walking up to the landing pad.

"Welcome back master bruce, I take it you won't be staying?"

"I'm afraid not just yet alfred." he told me handing young master Ryland what I guessed was his suit along with an orange utility belt and two black ecrisma sticks.

"Thanks." he grinned and I thought I saw a small smile tug at master Bruce's lips.

I noticed Bruce seemed lost in thought.

"Alfred, his ribs.. " he said in amazement. "They're healed!"

I quickly took a look at them and somehow they were.

"Oh, yeah, sorry I forgot slade experimented on me and gave me the same enhanced abilities as him including healing, aparantly he was able to enhance my abilities far beyond his own, I heal even quicker then he does."

"Good to know." I watched as Bruce sighed and then give Ryland a Curious glance. "How long would it take slade to recover fully from your injuries?"

"A day, a day and a half at most."

"And you were able to recover fully within the span of several hours."

Ryland nodded "like I said, I heal much faster than slade."

"Can you get poisoned or drugged?"

"I can get drugged, but it would take an elephant tranquiliser or some other drug with an equivalent strength to put me to sleep or make me high, as for poison I don't know though I'd assume it would take a lot more to poison me than it would a regular guy like you."

"Good, you feel like kicking a poisonus Assasians ass with me?"

"I'm always up for embarrassing fellow mercenaries."

I watched as Renegade changed into his suit and also as he and Bruce left via the batwing.

I hoped that the two would grow closer together as this mission of theirs progressed.

Hopefully to a father-son level.
