Renegade (Arkhamverse)

Chapter 10

"Renegade Moved swiftly through the crime ridden city, bludvaven was his playground.." I said in a deep voice.

"Are you narrating yourself?" Slade asked me with curiosity laced in his tone.

"His dad was boring, and refused to narrate his adventures." I narrated in an even deeper voice as I grappled into another building.

It was raining in bludvaven, literally pissing down,  "if only his dad had thought of a waterproof function for his suit!"

"Dad?" I asked as Slade went silent, I stood still trying to reach him.

Had he hung up on me?

"The terminator moved silently behind an unsuspecting target, sword ready to strike... He sliced the targets head off retreating back into the darkness..."
I laughed as dad narrated his actions.

"That's the spirit, fun isn't it?"

"Whatever you say, son."

"Hey, I've got to go, my guys here."

"Be safe, and remember, no girls, and only an hour!"

I disconnected.

I fired my remote claw to create a line for me to zip wire down using my bo staff.

Turns out zip wires are fun, especially when you do then hundreds of miles in the air from skyscraper to skyscraper.

My target saw me coming, he was in a penthouse on the top floor of a two hundred story skyscraper.

I smashed through his large window, the same window that gave him such a good view of the city. Feet first I landed in a crouch position.

"Haha, super villain landing!"

The treacherous assassin unseated a katana. I pulled out my own sword and we danced.

Turns out he wasn't a good fighter... He didn't know how to hold a sword properly and he lasted about three minutes because I was being nice and giving him a chance.

Eventually I got bored and ended him slicing through his neck.

Armed guards eventually kicked down the door and opened fire, I threw some explosives their way and watched happily as they all died.

I dived out the window free falling about a hundred feet before I grappled back up the the building I had zip wired from.

As I was running a figure cloaked in shadow leaped down in front of me casing me to come to a skidding haltm
I eyed the person cautiously.

A talon.

"Slade, I'm sending my location, back up would be appreciated, code red. "

"Got it, I'm on my way."

We both stood, unmoving, merely sizing each other up.

The talon didn't move an inch, even when I drew my sword. Slade was about 25 minutes away from where he told me his target was
I just had to survive until then.

I let out a gasp of surprise when the talon was inches away from my face.
I didn't even see it move.

I reacted even quicker dodging a knife strike. The fighting style was still engraved into my memory. I could predict the talons movements and counter them accordingly but talons where know for their adaptation.

I made a horizontal swipe at the talon but it lent back matrix style and dodged with amazing speed.

I sensed another talon behind me I ducked under its throwing knife but while I was distracted the first talon swept my legs out from under me.

I tried to get off the floor as fast as I could but a giant needle was shoved into my chest.

I discreetly made a grab for one of the talons golden knives. Quietly dropping it into my boot.

I was impressed, don't get me wrong I was pissed off, but they had managed to inject me with something that actually took effect. Normally my healing abilities would just laugh other substances off.

Not whatever was in my system though My body wasnt even able to chuckle much less laugh. 

I was in for a world of hurt.

(Slade)

I arrived at Ryland location, he wasn't here. My heart dropped. They had gotten him. After all these years the court had got him back!

I saw no sign of a struggle but I imagined Ryland didn't go down without a fight. 

I gritted my teeth.  I should've came with him! I should have been here!

I heard a thud behind me.

I turned and glared.

"don't worry, you'll see your son again, mercenery." a female talon said in a monotone voice.

She ran and I chased her as she dived off a building I wasn't able to catch her...

I swear, I will save My son and the court will pay!
