But I need you to forgive me.
Niall and Leah sat on the porch for a few hours after the other boys had left.
“What time are you leaving tonight?” Leah asked, resting her head on his shoulder, breathing in his scent. He smelled warm and inviting—just what she needed.
“Probably around six. But we should be back pretty early,” he mumbled into her hair. “Do you want to come? It’s not too late to change your mind.”
She shook her head. “You have fun. You shouldn’t have to babysit me all night.”
He laughed a short exhale. “It’s not babysitting. I want you there with me.”
“No, you need to be with the boys.”
They sat in silence before Niall spoke up.
“Why don’t we have some alone time before I have to start getting ready?” he murmured, kissing her neck.
She let him lead her up to his room and heard the lock. “I thought Meaghan gave you strict orders to leave the door open,” Leah teased, curling up on Niall's bed.
“Yeah, well, no one needs to know what we’re doing in here.” He spooned Leah and pressed his lips to her neck.
“What exactly do you have in mind?” she giggled as she felt Niall hovering above her. He was on top of her, his lips and teeth working the contours of her neck. Leah tangled her fingers in his soft hair. He came up and kissed her on the mouth.
“I think you can figure it out.” His voice was husky and low. Niall's hands wandered under her shirt, his thumb running along the ridge of her hip bone.
Leah kissed him back and pulled off his shirt. They’d done this before. She knew everything he would do. He would push her shirt up to her ribs and trail kisses down to her stomach. Then, he would pull her on top and she would press her lips down his chest, stopping just before his belt. But this time was different.
Niall hitched Leah’s legs around his waist and pulled off her shirt.
“What’re you doing?” she gasped as the cool air hit her exposed stomach.
He ignored her and fumbled with the button of her jeans.
“Niall, no,” she whimpered, uncomfortable. He was too heavy. She couldn’t move from under him. She squirmed and pushed against him. “No, Niall, stop.”
Niall sat up and said, “What’s wrong?”
Leah felt around for her shirt. “I can’t do this, Niall.” She slipped the fabric over her head. “I’m not ready.”
He sighed, obviously frustrated. “Alright, that’s…whatever.”
“What’s wrong?” Her eyebrows furrowed together. “You sound annoyed.”
“Yeah, I am. Just a bit.”
“Why? Because I won’t sleep with you?” She felt anger start hot in her chest.
