Ahsoka woke up that morning with a throbbing headache. She winced as she stretched her legs. It was only then that realisation dawned on her. Ahsoka jumped as her eyes darted to the figure that lay beside her. Lux stirred at her sudden movement. His eyes were still heavy as he took in her gazing down at him.
"Am I dreaming?" he asked sleepily. Ahsoka was too horrified about what had happened that night to answer. And then the memories all came back to Lux. Ahsoka began to scamper off of the bed but Lux held her arm back to stop her. "Ahsoka wait," he pleaded. She turned back to him, guilt etched into her face. "Please, just wait."
They stared at each other for a minute, not knowing what to say, before Ahsoka said, "I can't," and leaped out of bed. Quickly, she grabbed her clothes off of the floor and pulled them on. She raced for the door but it was still locked. "Urgh!" she complained and made a dash for the keys on the bedside cabinet next to Lux. However, before she could return to the door, Lux tackled her to the ground, the duvet falling to the floor between them. "Let me go Lux!" Ahsoka cried, wiping a tear away from her eye.
"Ahsoka please. Are we not going to talk about what happened? I know you didn't find that all bad." Ahsoka tried to push him off of her but her tears got the better of her. Her breathing started coming in ragged breaths as tears streamed down her cheeks. Lux sat up and pulled her into his arms. She collapsed there, shaking in his embrace. "I'm sorry Ahsoka. I shouldn't have done that. I know that it's forbidden for you to form attachments."
Ahsoka remained quiet but her breathing started to even out. "It's not your fault Lux it's just-" she was cut off by a new set of tears. Lux held her close as he pulled on his trousers. "Ahsoka I'm not going to deny that that was the best night if my life but if it makes you sad then it won't happen again. I guess it can't happen again anyway. You're a jedi, it's wrong. I'm sorry."
"Oh Lux it's not you," Ahsoka wept. "It's just if the council finds out I'll be expelled. The jedi order is my life I can't just walk away. I want to be with you but I don't know how and," she looked at the time on the digital clock above them, "Damn it my master will be looking for me. I'm almost 2 hours late. We're meant to be leaving Onderan soon." With that she scrambled to her feet, unlocked the door and marched out of it. Lux sprinted after her, with his top in his hand.
"Ahsoka wait!" he grabbed her hand, stopping her in her tracks.
"Lux, please you don't understand. My master will know something's going on because I'm late. If he sees me here with you..."
"If I see you with who Ahsoka?" Startled, they both spun around to see Anakin standing at the end of the corridor. Anakin stood there appauled, taking in the scene. His gaze drifted to the shirt still in Lux's hand and his hand around her arm.
"Master I'm so sorry I was just on my way to see you." She glanced at Lux. "This isn't what it looks like."
Before anyone could say anything else, Anakin pushed them both into Lux's room and shut the door behind him just as someone turned the corridor. "Thanks," she said gratefully to him.
Anakin held up a hand to silence her. "You better have an amazing explanation Ahsoka because what it looks like happened here is not good."
"It's my fault Master Skywalker please don't punish Ahsoka for it!" Lux interjected.
Ahsoka shook her head and sighed. "No Lux it's not just your fault. It's mine too. It was an accident master but I promise it'll never happen again. You can tell the council. I'll take whatever punishment they give me just please don't blame Lux for this I-"
Anakin held up a hand to silence her. "I'm not going to turn you in Ahsoka."
Ahsoka blinked, not sure she had heard him correctly. "What?"
"I said I'm not going to turn you in." Lux and Ahsoka stared at him in shock.
"But you've got to, I mean I broke the jedi code!" Ahsoka protested.
"Ahsoka I'm not turning you in." He smiled slightly before adding, "As it turns out I may have a secret too. Just try to be more careful next time."
"There won't be a next time anyway. This was all a misunderstanding," Ahsoka replied.
"Well it doesn't seem like that to me," Anakin said, glancing at them both. Lux took Ahsoka's hand carefully. "Not completely but the alcohol didn't help," he confessed.
Anakin cracked a smile. "Snips I'm not annoyed at you. You enjoy these last few hours on Onderan with Bonteri. I'll be back later to check up on you."
"But-" Ahsoka started.
"No that's an order. If it makes you feel any better I think you chose a good man."
Ahsoka fell quiet not sure what to say. With that Anakin turned to leave but just before he did Lux called out to him, "Master Skywalker." He turned around. "Thank you."
Anakin smiled. "No problem senator. You take care of Ahsoka now. I think she's still in shock." He let out a small laugh then marched out of the door leaving them alone.
Lux turned to Ahsoka. His eyes searching hers for answers.Note: art credit to Ahsoka114 on Deviantart
