Melanie Washington is a true crime junkie. She loves solving disappearances and murder mysteries then anyone else she knew, or basically anyone else in Hawkins. Her family truly believed one time she solved the crime of the zodiac killer, a popular crime that's been unsolved for so many years, and the zodiac killer was still on the loose when her older brother was born. But that's Melanie's favourite thing to do, solve people disappearing people and unsolved crimes.
So when Will Byers goes missing in 1983, Melanie knows this is a case to solve easily. With all her information about Will and how he disappeared, Melanie shows the information to all of Will's closest family members and friends, hopefully solving the crime. However, Melanie was unsuccessful. All her information was too late to give at the time, but she still solved his disappearance with all Will's friends and even family members to go on a journey Melanie will. never. forget!
