Chapter 13

Luke's POV:
"TORNADO!" Danielle yelled. "Mama! Get in the basement! Dani, grab our stuff and take it downstairs, stay down there I gotta go get dad." I said trying to stay calm. "Be careful baby." Dani said and kissed my cheek. "I will." I said and ran outside.

"Dad!" I called. "DAD!!" I yelled again. "COMING!" I heard him yell from the barn. I ran as fast as I could towards it and found him buy his toolbox. "Dad! There's a tornado!" I said as we heard the sirens go off. "Shit!" he said. We ran back to the house and down the stairs into the basement.

We were soaking wet. Mama and Dani were huddled together in the corner praying. When they finished she looked at me. "Baby! are you okay?" I asked her. "I'm fine, baby, you're soaking wet." she said. "I know come dry me off." I said and held out my arms.

She just laughed and grabbed a towel out of her bag and threw it at me. The sirens were blasting and daddy and mama were cuddled together in the corner. I wrapped the towel around my shoulders and rushed over to dani. I pulled her into my side and kissed the side of her head. "Were gonna be okay, baby." I said reassuring her. She looked at me then buried her head in my chest.

The lights flickered and the ground shook. I pulled dani closer to me and she dug her head in my chest even tighter. Trees were snapping all around us. I said a silent prayer that we would be safe. The wind was howling and dani was shaking. "Come 'ere baby." I said and pulled her into my lap. I held her as close and as tight as I could.

The lights were flickering like crazy and all of the sudden they stopped, and the sirens faded away. I heard mama sigh in relief that the tornado was gone, and we were safe. Dani was still shaking, so I rubbed her back soothingly. "Baby, we're safe now, you're okay." She looked at me with tears in her eyes and hugged me as tight as she could.

"I love you Luke, thanks for making me feel safe." she said and kissed me passionately. "I love you too, and no problem baby, I'd take my own life for you." I said and a tear rolled down her face as she smiled. I quickly wiped it away and she sighed. We stood up and mama and daddy came over to us, "is everyone okay." daddy asked. "Yes." I said.

We walked up the stairs and luckily no damage was done to the house. We walked outside and the sun was shining. Water droplets were dripping off of the roof and the gutters were full of water. We looked around and there was no damage done to the barn, the only thing was a couple trees were down.

"What's that?" Dani asked and pointed to something in the driveway. Dad and I walked over to it and I laughed. "It's a mattress." I told her and she giggled. I walked over to her and wrapped her in a tight hug. "Wanna go make love on that mattress?" I whispered in her ear and she smacked me and laughed.

"Y'all come here." Dad said. We walked over to where him and mama were standing. "Let's thank The Lord." he said and we all bowed. "Father, thank you for protecting us during this storm and preventing any damage done to our house or barn and animals. Thank you for keeping all of us safe and I pray that you will help everyone be safe as this storm travels. Please bless Luke and Dani with safety as they travel to L.A. And tell Chris and Kelly that we love and miss them. In Jesus name we pray, Amen." he said "Amen." we all said and lifted out heads.

"Alright baby, let's go get ready for L.A." I said and grabbed her hand. We walked into the house and grabbed our stuff from downstairs. My phone buzzed in my hand so I looked down to see what it was.

Luke all the flights to L.A. canceled because of storms, you're gonna have to drive.

"What's wrong baby?" Dani asked and wrapped her arm around my neck, resting her hand on my shoulder. "All the flights to California our canceled." I said. "ROADTRIP!!" she exclaimed and I laughed. "So you're not mad?" "why would I be mad?" She said and nibbled at the corner of my mouth before kissing my lips.
