"I THINK I'M DEPRESSED."

Gina Martin chuckles and looks over at her roommate whose hanging upside down on the side of her bed, the ends of her dark hair crumpled on the floor. "You're leaving tomorrow to go to California for a week, you have no reason to be depressed," she replies with a raised eyebrow as if she was asking a question.

Lianna Lewis huffs and rolls her eyes, "I know this, Savannah already booked the tickets for the trip.  I just don't feel as excited to go as I normally would, and this time I'm actually going to Los Angeles."  She finally sits up, the blood rushing to head finally getting to her, a headache beginning to form.  Running a hand through her hair, she puts her face in her pillow and sighs.

"Maybe you're using this so-called-depression as an excuse to not pack?" Gina questions with a smirk looking over at Lianna's side of the room, that is in tatters, clothes all over the floor, some articles even hanging off her bed, while two empty suitcases lay in the hallway, just outside the room.

A cry of annoyance is heard from Lianna's pillow, "I know," she whines, "I just don't know what to take, I want to try and avoid looking like a tourist, but I don't want to look like I'm trying too hard."

"You are freaking out over something I'm sure no one but you is going to notice or even care about," Gina says in a tone of comfort, "Besides, I'm sure you're going to be buying plenty of new clothes while you're there."

Lianna turns her head so she can look at her friend, "Don't be so sure, Savannah and I only have enough money for the hotel we're staying in as well as for the food we eat while we are there. We are probably going to have to walk wherever we go," she explains, "This is our only opportunity to go this year, and although we won't have a lot of money to spend, I'm sure we will make the most of trip." Trying to be optimistic, she sends her roommate a smile, "That's why I need to take the perfect clothes with me."

Gina nods in understanding, "I'm sure you'll look great in whatever you choose to wear."

Humming in reply, Lianna finally gets off her bed and starts picking through her clothes. Putting all her sweatshirts except for one back in her closet, knowing it will be too hot to wear them in California.  She starts organizing her pants and shorts, placing the newest and more expensive ones in a pile for the trip.

She takes a glimpse of Gina whose playing on her phone, "Where are you and Tanner going again?"

Gina smiles looking up from her phone, "We decided to go to the Bahamas this year, although Tanner wanted to go to Puerto Rico again, I convinced him otherwise," she smirks.

"Man, you've got the boy wrapped around your finger, don't you?" Lianna laughs.

Gina looks over at the picture on her desk of her and her boyfriend, "Yep, for three years so far."

Grinning at Gina, Lianna goes back to going through her clothes, "This spring break is gonna be so much better than last years," she starts before huffing, "Anything's better than going back home and waiting on tables."

"I bet," Gina replies, "I really hope you have a good time, make sure to take a bunch of pictures for me."

"Will do, and same goes to you, I'm sure it's going to be absolutely beautiful there," Lianna says imagining what it would be like to go to an island.

*THE NEXT DAY*

"SAV!" Lianna shouts running over into her best friends arms after leaving the bag check-in and finding her friend.

Savannah Rogers holds onto her friend and with the same intensity yells out her best friends nickname in reply, "Li!  You have no idea how much I've missed you."  It had been a month since the friends had last seen each other, the cons of going to two separate colleges across the state.

"Oh, I'm sure I can imagine, because I've definitely missed you double that," Lianna sighs pulling away, and grabbing her carry-on, "Now let's hurry to get a pretzel before the plane leaves!" Taking her best friend's hand, they rush to well known soft pretzel kiosk.

After finishing their pretzels and catching up, the girls walk to their boarding station. "You ready for this six-hour plane ride?" Savannah asks her friend curiously.

"Am I ready for my ears to constantly pop no matter how many pieces of gum I'm chewing?  Hell no!"  Lianna laughs, "But once we're in Los Angeles, I'm sure I'll be a happy camper, what about you?"

"Oh I already know I'm going to be passed out not even ten minutes on the plane," Savannah retorts.

Lianna jokingly scowls at her friend, "And that's where we are different, I'm not going to get a lick of sleep the entire ride."

Their plane is then called for passengers to start boarding, so both girls start to walk to the main gate, Lianna casually searching through her carry-on and pulling out a neck-pillow and a pair of wireless headphones.

"You came prepared, huh?" Savannah chuckles, her friend nodding in reply with a smile.

They finally board the flight and find their seats, Savannah getting the window and Lianna sat beside her as well as a man in a business suit.

"Before you fall asleep," Lianna begins, "Did you make any plans for when we get there, or are we just going to be doing our own thing the entire trip?  Cause I'm honestly fine with either."

Savannah looks over at her friend with a knowing smirk, "Oh, I've got plans, but it's a surprise." And with that, she pulls out an eye mask out of her bag as well as earbuds, ending the conversation with a, "See you in six hours," before putting on some music and putting the mask on, drifting quickly to sleep.

Rolling her eyes with a smile, Lianna relaxes in her seat and checks her Instagram one last time before the plane lifts off.  Liking a few of her friends' posts, including Gina's selfie of her and her boyfriend, Tanner, on their way to the Bahamas, she comes across a post from Ethan Dolan about how the winner of their contest of getting to come and hang out with them for a day was contacted and the contest was officially over.

Lianna hearted the picture, smiling at the goofy post with his brother, Grayson, standing right beside him.  How crazy would it be to actually meet them?   She thought to herself before closing the app, sending a quick text to her parents, then putting on some music to listen to just as the plane started to take off.

Hi everyone! Welcome to my new story, I've been thinking up this story for a long ass time, but never felt inclined to actually start writing it.  It's actually been a while since I've last written on this app so I may be a bit rusty.  But I hope you enjoyed this first part although it's just basically an introduction to the story, nothing too important happening thus far.  Hope you guys like the concept and I'm sure you all know where this storyline is heading but if not, stay tuned. Let me know what you guys think so far, and any ideas. Let me know if you like this length of chapters as well, I can make them longer or shorter if you prefer.
