Beep beep.
The echoing sound of the dreaded alarm clock brought my sleepy, green eyes open. The alarm could signal only one thing. School. The start to of a new school year, and I’m not ready, not ready at all. I don’t exactly hate school, I actually love learning new thing, getting to see my friends, and playing soft ball. It’s just all the drama and hard work that comes with it. I have a bit of extra excitement this year because I’m a senior now. I don’t know what to expect of this year but I have a weird feeling that it’s going to be a good year. My alarm quiets as I press snooze. I rest my head upon my hand, slowly pushing myself up and off my light, blue, pillow covered bed, that has some sweaters and two of my favourite teddy’s mushed up together at the end on my bed.
My head turns towards a mirror as I am caught by the tiredness shattering thorough my face. I really need to get use to the new school sleeping plan, after spending my holidays in bed during the day and awake at night, as if I was a owl. I quickly shower, using my favourite shampoos and body wash that smelt like lavender. I like smelling nice around people, it one of my favourite complements to get, as well as ‘you have a good taste in music’. My image is important to me but I’ve never let it change who I really am. You could say I’m popular, I mean I have loads of people I talk to, but I only have three main friends that can read me like a book, who know my every emotion, sometimes even before I know it. We tell each other everything, or at least I think we do, well you never know actually know for sure, do you? But these people have changed my life, helped me with my past and brought me into the group when I joined the school in 7th grade. They made me feel loved, and until then, was the only love I had been shown from anyone apart from my family and best friend Alexa. I don’t like to dwell on past, I live in the future.
I step out of the shower, closing the steamed up door behind me as I carefully try not to slip on the cold, stone floor whilst grabbing my towel. I got dressed into a white crop top, that show of a bit of my toned stomach and a pair of dark blue, high wasted jeans. On top of this I had a green, woollen sweater, that was just shorter then my top, still showing a hit of my stomach if I raised my arms. I put the towel around my hair, while I wipe the bathroom mirror free of steamed up water, and begin applying makeup on my face, to hide the tiredness I feel within. I’m just finishing of on my mascara when I hear a loud but soft knock on the locked family bathroom door.
“Laurrr… Dinah’s here, get a move on. You don’t want to be late on your first day” my mother’s sweet voice mutters through the wood of the door. I finish up my makeup, remove the towel from my fairly dry hair, giving it a quick brush before I exit the house, giving my mother a hug before I go towards my ride.
“Sup dawgg” Dinah’s voices yells out, flicking her bouncy, golden hair towards me, to tell me to get in. Oh boy have I missed her. I chuckle to myself, letting a smile appear on my light up face as well as the girls sat inside the car.
“Missed you” I say, as we begin to drive. Dinah had been busy looking after and hanging out with her family all holiday, I’ve barely even seen her. We catch up on our way to our next passage. We all can drive but Dinah has the biggest car (which is still tiny) and lives the furthest away so it make sense. We split the money for petrol though, so it’s fair.
“I can tell, have you been up all night miss me or somethin’. You look tired as shit dawg” Dinah chuckles out, honestly. I appreciate her honesty but sometimes it can be rude.
