Short chapter just bc its just to fill in so sorry lolol anyway //

We reached the flag pole, the spot where we met the boys each day. Except this time, there was a fourth leaning near Luke.

I squinted my eyes to try and make out the face.

Tapping Onyx, I pointed over at them and  spoke, "Is that that Ashton kid or whatever?"

She glanced over and then nodded at me. "I think so, isn't he their new drummer?"

"I think thats what Michael said." I said, as I watched Onyx wink at me at the mention of Michael's name.

I rolled my eyes, and we continued walking over.

"Hey!" Onyx bubbled as we neared them.

Calum smiled at us both and waved, as the other three nodded at us.

"Hey, you guys remember Ash, right?" Michael said while ruffling his hair.

"Of course. Hi Ashton." I said, with Onyx's wave following.

Ashton smiled huge, and two deep dimples sucked into his cheeks.

"He's gonna come back to Michael's house with us today, if thats alright." Luke finally spoke up, flicking his black lip ring with his tongue.

After a quick confirmation that we were fine with Ashton coming over, we all formed in our usual order next to eachother,  (Calum, Onyx, Michael, me, Luke, and now Ash,) and piled into the school.

                                  ------------------------------------------------------------

The day went by pretty fast for me. There were three minutes left of the day. All the seniors gathered in the halls and watched the timer countdown on our school tv.

"20

19

18..."

Onyz, the guys, and I had all found eachother and gathered around the two front doors in the lower floor of the school. Michael grabbed Onyz and I's hands, and we clamped them together, eager to hear the final bell we would ever hear for our highscool years.

"17

16

14..."

Ashton and Calum chanted each number while throwing their fists in the air.

"13

12

11..."

Luke smiled at the screen and bounced up and down in place.

This was it, there were ten seconds left until freedom.

"10

9

8

7

6

5

4..."

My stomach began to churn, nerves were taking over.

"3

2

1!"

In that moment everything was a blur, my four years of hell were over. It had been four years of essays, rules, detentions, and homework; but also four years of friends, relationships, and laughs.

I looked over at Michael who was screaming and bouncing.

"We're done, Felicity! We're out of here!"

He pulled me into a big bear hug. I loved Michael's hugs. Anyone who knew Michael knew how he did 'the thing' when he hugged people. If you ever described it to someone, you always just called it 'the thing'. He hugged under there arms, low enough so that his chin could perfectly fit onto their shoulder, and he would use up the whole length of his arms, and closed his eyes. They made his hugs so close and warm, and I had absolutely fallen in love with them.

He released me and held my shoulders,

"I can't believe it." I whispered, before he giggled and turned back arround to high five Luke and hug Onyx.

We all finished saying our goodbyes to some of the people we knew and loved, along with some teachers, and ran out of the front doors down into the parking lot and onto the sidewalk.

We all walked and talked and jittered around. Ashton had smiled and agreed to things said a lot, but barely spoke.

"Ashton!" I slid over and nudged him. He looked up.

"You've been awfully quiet. Talk to us, c'mon man!"

Luke chimed in before he could speak, "I don't think I've ever seen Ash this quiet before. This guy makes conversation with random people at bus stops, so don't ask any of us why he's gone mute." Calum laughed at Luke's comment, and finally, Ash spoke.

His voice was very quirky and gulpy. His dimples popped a lot more when he would laugh, (and can I just say he has one of the best laughs I've ever heard, next to Michael's cute gaspy laugh,) and he used hand motions a lot.

"I don't wanna be awkward or end up saying something ridiculous!" He said while flinging his head down and laughing, "I've only met the girls one other time!"

"What, you like one of them?" Calum joked, raising his eyebrows at both of us.

"Shut up man, no! Wait, no offense. See damnit this is what I was trying to avoid!" He laughed drastically, his smile stretching across his face.

"All good, Ashton." Onyx  stated while resting her hand on on his shoulder. We all laughed and continued walking.
