I enjoyed the bike ride, pressing my face into the back of Keith's shirt, using him as a wind breaker. He leaned back into me, so little and so slowly it was hardly noticeable, but it was there.

After we arrived, we both hopped off the bike, eager to re-explore the caves.

"Stay behind me," Keith said, "we may have already explored the caves, but you never know." I frowned and shook my head.

"I'm just as capable of defending myself as you are, Keith," I raised my hand, "together?" He nodded and intertwined his fingers with mine.

"Together." I smiled. Sometimes, it can be hard for Keith to see me as an equal since he's so used to being the protector. As we worked our way through the caves, we pressed up against each other, squeezing through the most narrow parts side-by-side. The carvings were just as I remembered them: a story of a "blue lion" which, seems uncannily identical to a story my mom would tell me as a kid. She would set me on her lap and tell me a story of a great warrior who's name has slipped into the shadows of my mind, just barely out of reach. This great warrior was formed when three lions, one blue, one red, one green, one yellow, and one black, joined together to form one massive robot fighter that will, one day, save the galaxy.

I put these childish notions into the back of my mind as Keith and I continued on.

The caves we're exactly the same as before. I don't really know why I was surprised. I took a few more pictures of the walls before we sat down to our dinner.

It was just starting to get dark when we decided to head home, unsuccessful in our search for something new. We hopped on his bike and I was falling back into daydreams when something bright streaked across the sky. the bike skidded to a stop.

"What was that!?" Keith exclaimed. I shook my head and whipped out my bandanna.

"I have no idea," I pulled my loose ponytail tighter and tied my bandanna around my mouth, "but let's find out."
