Chapter 5

Dipper's POV

I turned off the TV and went upstairs to our bathroom. I washed my face and some of my hair to remove the sweet syrup-filled hair.

After that I went back downstairs to see Mabel talking to a huge chubby guy. The guy saw me and walked up to me.

"hey dude, you new here with her too? Nice to meet ya, I'm Soos! Is your tail there real?" He took my hand and shook it a bit too hard.

"Yeah, It's real" I sigh, he'll probably think of me as a freak too...

"Wow dude, that's so cool. You're probably famous for that!" Soos looks at my tail with amazement.

"No, actually. I often get bullied for it.." He looked at me with this questioning face.

"Why dude? That thing is super cool, how would no one like that?" Now I'm confused, how does he not hate me?

"I actually don't know..." I answered.

"K dude, I'll go now, Mr. Pines doesn't like it when I slack off during the job" Then he went back to re-stocking the shelves.

I looked around a bit and saw Mabel trying to flirt with some boys in the shop. Suddenly Grunkle Stan bursts through the door holding some signs, and Pitt cola?

"I need someone to hammer up these signs in the woods" he orders.

"Not it!" Mabel exclaims. "let Dipper do it!" she points to me.

"Okay, just hang all these signs and you're good to go!" then Grunkle Stan gave me the signs and a hammer.

I walk out of the shack and looked at the dark forest ahead. I inhaled remembering the dream I had last night.

'It's okay Dipper, it was just a dream. You're going to be fine..' he thought to himself while walking into the woods

( Time Skip)

It's been atleast 30 minutes and I just need to hang one more sign. Just as I was about to hammer the nail into tree, I heard a clanking sound from it.

I felt around the tree and was able to find a small lining to which I pulled it and opened a small hatch with some tiny levers inside.

I flicked some levers and heard a sound coming near the back of the tree. When I looked I saw a trap door
open.

I slowly walked up to it and looked inside, finding a book with six fingered hand sticker which was marked with a three.

I opened the book to find a monocle inside. I put it back and flip to another page. I read what was written out loud, “Unfortunately, my suspicions have been confirmed, I'm being watched. I must hide this book before he finds it”

'He? Who was the author talking about?' I asked myself before continuing, "Remember- in Gravity Falls, there is no one you can trust" which was followed by 'TRUST NO ONE' which was written in large bold letters.

I hide it in my vest since it seems kinda important. I suddenly get a feeling of being watched, I quickly turned around just to have Mabel tackle me to the ground.

"Dipper, where were you?! Grunkle Stan was getting worried so he sent me to find you!" she exclaimed, obviously upset with me.

"Uh, I guess I lost track of time?" I shrugged sheepishly. She then sighs.

"should have been expected from you, dumb freak. Now let's quickly go back to the shack, I gotta hang out with my new boyfriend!" Boyfriend? Since when- oh, probably when I was hanging the signs.

( Short Time Skip )

Once we got back to the shack Mabel introduced her boyfriend. "Meet my new boyfriend! We met at a cemetery. Isn't he the coolest?" I swear this guy looks like he died and was dug out of a grave!

"So, what's your name?" I asked.

"Uh, Normal.. Man!" he really seems suspicious..

"He means Norman" Mabel corrects him while hugging his arm. "We're gonna hang out now, bye!"

I just suspiciously watched them leave. 'There is definitely something weird with this dude'

I quickly ran to the attic to take out the journal and flip through the pages to see anything that resembles Norman.

After a few minutes of flipping through pages I finally found it, A page about the undead! "known for their pale and bad attitudes, these creatures are often mistaken for teenagers. Beware Gravity Falls' nefarious ZOMBIES?!"

I was quite worried, I know Mabel hasn't cared about me at all, but I believe no one should experience such death! And this could actually start a zombie apocalypse. Should I warn Mabel about this? Probably.

Then suddenly the door bursts open, Mabel going inside. "Mabel! Mabel! Norman is not what he seems, he may actually be a zombie!" I try reasoning with her.

"And how did you think of that? You got no proof!" I sigh, there was no other way than to do this..

"Here, this is my proof" I quickly take out the journal, showing her the page about the undead. But she just laughs it off.

"You actually believe that?! That's probably some lame old journal that was made for jokes! I know you're just trying to ruin my relationship. But anyways I just needed to get something for my date!" I get irritated, I was just worried and she ignores it?!

"Atleast I cared for you!" I snapped. I just ran out of the mystery shack, and into the forest.

( Time Skip)

I calmed myself by listening to the birds singing, and watching some flowers that started to bloom.

I decided it was time to go back to the shack, but while walking home, I saw a bright yellowish glow near the trees.

I was about to investigate it but I heard Mabel screaming. I looked at Mabel's direction and back to the trees to see that the glow disappeared.
I shook my head, I probably was just seeing things.

I ran to Mabel's direction, just to see her being carried away by small people? I ran to the Mystery Shack to see a teenage girl standing next to a golf cart.

"Uh hi. Can I please borrow that golf cart? I need it for my sister!" I pleaded. She looks at me with this pretty chill expression.

"Sup, I'm Wendy. And sure, go ahead."
She hands me the keys and I give her the most thankful look ever.

"Thank you very much! I'd love to talk but this is kinda important, sorry!" I ran to the golf cart. I then started the engine, and drove into the forest.

'I just hope she doesn't get bitten..'
