Florida's Eyes

his eyes were not quite blue, not brown

not the color of the withered trees

they sometimes sparkled in the moonlight winds

but teared up at the slightest breeze

his eyes compelled me to do as he said

frozen in the flawed lies of his pleas

But I the crippled abandoned one

was left to thaw our distancing peace
