They say that if a person has a pet, then they no longer need a love interest. But (Y/N) never believed that, and before moving in with her boyfriend, she managed to persuade him to take in a dog. Therefore, for several days the girl couldn't sit still because of impatience and counted the days before going to the pet shelter. And here she was. On the site she found herself a charming white puppy and was completely confident in her choice, but as always, fate had its own plans.
In the brightest and most joyful of moods, the girl stepped in an animal shelter, mentally preparing herself for a meeting with her future pet. Hands were trembling a little, giving out excitement. "As if I'm about to be married," flashed through her mind. From these thoughts, the future pet owner couldn't keep off a smile and even laughed to herself. Unfortunately, her boyfriend couldn't go with her, referring to the huge busyness at work, adding that he trusts her choice. This wasn't the first time he pulled something like this and, to be honest, the young lady's already gotten used to this, but having a kind and soft character, she forgave him every time and didn't see anything wrong with that.
A loud cheerful barking brought a young lady from the thoughts and, as she turned to the source of noise, some dog knocked her down, trying to jump into her hands. The girl inelegantly plopped on the floor, but she caught the dog, and now was trying to push a joyful dog away from herself, which was trying to lick her. Multicolored eyes shone with joy and fun, and the restless tail lashed the girl's legs. Having met the animal's gaze, the girl froze for a moment, but the worker immediately arrived, crumbling in apologies.
'Oh, I'm sorry. He's such a troublemaker, but he had never thrown himself on people like that before. Usually he's very calm. Did you hurt?' woman pulled the dog's leash and helped her up.
'No, it's all right, don't worry. I'm just a little surprised' the girl shook off her clothes and thanked woman for help. Now (Y/N) finally could see the dog more clearly. He was big, with fluffy black and white fur and intelligent multi-colored eyes. One was the color of young foliage, and the other was blood red. Despite her love for dogs, the young lady almost didn't know breeds.
'This is a husky, isn't it?' she squatted in front of the animal and began to stroke his head. The dog again began to wag his fluffy tail and stuck out its pink tongue, gladly accepting her care.
'Yes. Usually the dogs of this breed are very stupid, but this is surprisingly smart and caused a lot of trouble to his previous owners' the worker shook her head in dismay, trifle the cord of the leash in her hands.
'And where are you taking him now then? Did you find another owner?' the girl started to feel a little upset, preparing to hear a positive answer. Somehow she got attached to this dog, maybe by some kind of unexpectedly awakened sixth sense.
'No. He has already been returned three times, and our shelter can no longer take care of him, so he will be put to sleep today'
The answer struck young lady as a lightning. How can they put an animal to sleep, just because nobody needs it and his owners turned out to be stupid slobs who couldn't get along with him? Inside, everything gurgled with anger and hate for such people. And also to heartless people, like this employee, who talked about future death in such a casual and thoughtless tone. She rose abruptly, forcing the woman to start back slightly. At the same time, the girl made a decision.
