This is a continuation from last chapter!
"Hello ma'm," the woman said in a quiet voice. It was sounding like she had been crying earlier."I heard that you guys relocate dogs that you can not keep." The woman looked at you with hopeful but sad eyes.
"Yes, we sure do ma'm."
The lunch break of the others who worked at the shelter seemed to be over as a few employees caught your eye.
"I ha- We have a dog... That we need to relocate, could you maybe tell us more about the process to do so please." As the woman said her last words she looked down and put her hands on the little boys shoulders. The little boy looked around 5 years old and you must say that he was keeping it together pretty well even after hearing his mom say that they needed to relocate their dog. She had probably told him earlier about it, but still, it's gonna be emotional throughout the whole process, not only when you find out. Yet when he was looking into your own eyes there was some sort of glint in them that told you that he didn't only know about it, he was the one that wanted it to happen sort of. It was of course only you that thought that way but you couldn't get it out of your mind.
"Of course I'll tell you more about it," you said looking up at the woman and then to your side telling one of the other employees to get behind the desk.
As you walked out of the little space that was separating you and the woman and the little boy you said,
"Follow me." as you made your way to an empty room so you could talk about the process of relocating their dog in a more isolated setting.
After a short talk the little boy looked up to you and with a serious expression said,
"I want to be there with you and find a home to my dog, I need to find a trustworthy person to take care of him!"
Usually when you relocated dogs the previous owners wasn't a part of the process and just signed a paper saying that they're okay with finding a new home to their dog. You weren't sure whether or not it would be possible for the little boy to be apart of finding his dog a new home; but he looked so sad, you needed to talk with your boss if it was a possibility.
"Well, I could talk with my boss if you would like to, since we usually don't have the owners involved i relocating I'm not sure if it's possible. But I'll see what I can do!"
You stood up from the chair that you were sitting on as the mother said,
"Thank you, that would be very appreciated."
As you walked towards the door you told them to sit and relax while you went off to find your boss.
As you found Namjoon you explained the situation to him as the both of you made your way to the room where the hopeful family was sitting.
The introduction between Namjoon and the family was short as they started to discuss the possibilities of letting them help with the relocation.
"There's of course a possibility that you guys could help finding you dog a new home together with us. All we really need to do is to get some information about your dog and make a profile on our website. The people on my team will contact people of interest and that's when you meet them in person. We could contact you when we make an appointment and you could be here and help deciding who seems like the best fit for your dog."
As Namjoon was talking you could see the woman's shoulders relax and the little boy gave out a small smile.
"Will I be able to have my dog at home while we find a new home to him?"
Namjoon looked down at the boy and smiled, "Of course!".
The small unplanned meeting was over and you informed them that you could help them make a profile for the dog now if they wanted to. The woman said that the dog was outside the building and went to take him inside so you could take a few photos of him.
You were left with the small boy by your side for a minute and it gave you time to inspect him even more.
His eyes were quite small and dark, he had dark circles around his eyes and it was more clear to see now than when he first came into your view because of his swollen red eyes from crying. He was very pale and had pale lips with a lot of cracks.
"I never got your name before, what was it?" you asked the boy, getting down to his eye level trying to start a conversation. The woman had mentioned her name to be Jin-joo Jeon, so what was her sons name?
"My name is Jae-hyung Jeon." he looked at you and stretched out his hand.
"Hello Jae-hyung, my name is Y/N Y/L/N." you took his hand and shook it as you saw a smile spread across his face.
Mrs. Jeon came in as you heard the bell ring and by her side was a black Labrador Retriever. Jae-hyung took the leash from his mothers hand and as you showed them to the room for making profiles to the dogs you noticed how good the Labrador was walking in his leash. The dog wasn't running everywhere or behaving bad in any sort of way. What was even the reason they needed to relocate him?
As you took photos of the Labrador he sat still and even looked into the camera with a little help from Jae-hyung. It was always extremely hard to take pictures of dogs but for some reason this one was as easy as ever.
You started to talk to the family about how a profile should look like and what information you needed. Mrs. Jeon was as prepared as ever when you told her you needed his adoption papers so you could find some dates and information; she pulled out her phone and showed you the pictures she took of the papers and everything went smoothly.
You wrote about the dog, who you found out was called Itachi, and his amazing traits and you were sure that there would be many people who would like to adopt him. You went through the profile multiple times and made sure the family thought it was nicely written with matching information about Itachi.
As always, next chapter on Wednesday!
I have nothing else to say... so
