"What do you mean?" Jungkook said looking at you

"What do you mean?" Jungkook said looking at you.

As you looked into his eyes you felt a wet tear rolling down your cheek.

"Nothing... I just zoned out!" You attempted to laugh a little at the situation and as you wiped your tears away and cleared your voice you tried to start up a conversation with the bunny.

"You know, I've actually adopted a dog recently. His name is Itachi, like the character in Naruto right?"

You smiled lightly as Jungkook started to ramble about Itachi in Naruto and who his favourite character was. The more he was talking, the more you forgot about the situation that made you cry.

You were working a little bit at your computer while watching Jungkook from the corner of your eye when you suddenly got a call. You looked at your phone screen and saw that it was an incoming call from Mrs. Jeon. Swiping you finger on 'answer call' you put the phone against your ear.

-Hello this is Y/N Y/L/N

-Hello Y/N, this is Mrs. Jeon

You saw Jungkook's ears perk up and he turned his head to you watching your every movement.

-Um, we thought that if you have some time tomorrow you could tag along with my husband and Jae when they're going for a walk with Itachi. I don't have time to join them but we thought that maybe you had the time.

-I would love to join them, my work pass ends 16:00 tomorrow if that's an appropriate time.

-Yes it is. My husband said that they could meet you in front of the shelter at that time if that would work.

-It absolutely would. So tomorrow 16:00 in front of the shelter?

-Yes, that's it. Thank you so much for doing this Y/N!

-It's a pleasure. Goodbye Mrs. Jeon!

-Goodbye Y/N

"Who was that?" Jungkook asked never taking his eyes of off you.

"That was the person I adopted Itachi from."

"Will you take him home tomorrow?"

"I hope not." you said as you were getting sad again.

"Why not? Don't you want to take home Itachi?" at this moment you realized how bad it had sounded when you said you didn't want to take home Itachi. You really liked the dog and would love to take him home, but it was the fact that when Itachi would come home to you, that meant that the family couldn't take care of him, and Jae-hyung wouldn't be in a good condition.

As the questions stopped and the day came to an end Jungkook was sent back home when Namjoon came to pick him up. You laid down in your bed and looked up at the ceiling, you couldn't wait for tomorrow to come.

As you entered the shelter Namjoon stood there waiting for you. He gave you a hug and thanked you so much for yesterday and told you how happy he was that you had helped him with something so important.

Working with the dogs at the shelter was truly amazing, to see the most aggressive dogs improve and find a home, and to see the most scared dogs open up to you was a blessing. It was something you were so passionate about and you could never see yourself being a dishwasher at a Chinese Restaurant ever again.

Your work for the day was done and you walked out and saw Jae-hyung and Itachi with a tall man by their side. Probably Mr. Jeon.

Jae-hyung saw you and ran towards you with Itachi by his side and as you bent down a bit, he jumped up and wrapped his arms around your neck and hugged you tightly. You laughed as you both let go of one another and you stood up to greet Mr. Jeon.

The walk was nice and pleasant as you talked with both Mr. Jeon and Jae-hyung about things you found interesting in the moment. You questioned Jae-hyung about how well behaved Itachi was for his age, Mr. Jeon went on to talk about how much Jae-hyung trained Itachi everyday but still made it a fun process for Itachi and that's why he was behaving so well. You could definitely see what a good bond Jae-hyung had with Itachi and you feared that you wouldn't be able to have the same bond as them when the time comes.

Later that evening as you laid in your bed all ready for sleep, you closed your eyes and took a deep breath. Hopefully you live up to Jae-hyung's expectations.

The weeks passed and you had a new routine including getting to know Itachi even more and more by going on walks and playing with him. Jae-hyung's condition was getting worse and so you were there as an extra help to take care of Itachi. Because of Jae-hyung's condition worsening, Mrs and Mr. Jeon was helping you to get some of their dog toys and dog necessaries to your place. They didn't know how much longer it would be until the big avalanche came crashing down and they wanted to prepare as much as possible.

Jae-hyung was now officially at the hospital and Itachi went home with you.

You had gotten a call from Mr. Jeon in the morning saying that Jae-hyung had gotten too bad to be able to stay at home and that he needed to be transferred to the hospital. Mr. Jeon went to drop Itachi off at your place as you made plans to visit Jae-hyung tomorrow at noon.

Days went by and everyday you visited Jae-hyung who had a smile on his face even though the situation. Every night you went to sleep with a dog next to you and no matter how much you tried, you weren't able to relax thinking about how Jae-hyung was feeling at the moment.

One morning you went to your job, went home, got ready to go to the hospital to visit Jae-hyung, and halfway there; you got a call.

You went to a park and sat down at one of the empty benches. Looking up at the kids laughing and screaming you tilted your head back so your eyes met the sky. Tears fell down as you closed your eyes and took a deep breath.

You went back home knowing Itachi needed to go out for a walk.

That night you looked into Itachi's brown eyes.

He knew about it too.

"You're gonna be staying with me for a few years now Itachi... I hope you don't mind."
