"Shh! She's waking up!" A girly voice says.
My eyes are met with pain-fully bright lights. Actually-- scratch that; nothing is more painful as the pounding headache I'm feeling right now.
"Landon, go fetch Dr.Warren," A handsome man says. "Zuri, follow along with your brother."
" But I want to stay with Mummy!" Mummy?
The man gives her a blank stare. They stare off for a bit, until she finally leaves. Silence follows as we both watch the chidren leaves. Then the intimidating man begins to talk.
" I know you've done this on purpose," The man seethes, turning towards me. Pure hatred oozing out of his eyes.
"Excuse me?" I blink.
He looked surprised, hearing me speak.
"Don't play dumb," He says, walking around the desk and coming closer to my hospital bed."Okay.. Do I know you? I think you have the wrong room,"
The man smirks as if he thinks I'm joking. He comes closer to my bedside, his mouth coming close to my ear as he whispers," Let me tell you this. If you pull this stunt again, I'm not giving you a slap on the wrist like last time. This time you won't like what I have in mind."
What the heck?
"What are you talking about?" How is this man threatening me when he doesn't even know me?
"That stupid American accent isn't working for you either. I know you're faking it-"
"Mrs.Alessio! Welcome back, you had us worried there,"
Mrs?"Let's see here," The man in the white coat says, shining a light into my eyes. "Do you remember anything two nights ago?"
"I-"
"Mummy! Look what I drawed you!" A little girl with bouncing curls says, jumping on top of my bed.
"Emmy, let Mummy talking to the doctor first, yeah?" The intimidating man from before says.
So now he can be nice?"Well, I don't really remember a thing. I just have a blasting headache," I explain.
Everyone in the room looks at me confusedly.
A long silence, no one speaks; until the loud giggle coming from the corner of the room."Mummy talks funny!" The little girl says.
The doctor clears his throat, "Can you tell me what your name is?"
My name? Now that I think about it...
"I-ah, no, not really I can't."The doctor sighs and straightens," Alex, a chat with you outside please?"
'Alex', or whatever his name is, runs a hand through his hair and follows the doctor out of the room.
"Mummy?" A small boyish voice whispers. I hadn't noticed the boy until now.
"Me and Emmy made you a picture," He says, " for you to get better." The dirty blonde haired boy places a picture of a man and a woman with two children; a boy and a girl.
" Daddy says it'll make you happy!" The little girl chimes in, "and happy people get better!" Emmy says, matter-of-factly.I'm speechless really. How am I married, with two children might I add, and don't even remember?
The children look at me expectantly," Oh-ah, thank you Emmy and..."
"Landon, " The boy says, looking rather hurt that I had forgotten his name. The door opens once more, revealing the same brooding man, followed by another tall disheveled dirty blonde man. "Landon, Emmy, Graham here is going to take you to his house for a bit," Alex says.
Graham looks at him completely surprised, " What, hey! I said I would help you but not take care of your brat- " Graham stops talking as soon as he sees his friend's icy glare.
"Right.. Yeah, come on then, out we go so we can leave Mummy and Daddy alone, eh?" Graham says, taking Emmy and Landon by the hand.
Once the three were out the door, Alex begins talking, "The doctor says you have amnesia," He says, placing his hands in his suit pockets. " Quite frankly, I don't care what you have," he states, "there's no excuse for what you've done to me, Lauren."A/N
