I slowly picked up the phone and answered it. "H-hello." I answered shakily. "Isn't it funny? You hear phone ring and it could be anybody. But a ringing phone has to be answered doesn't it?" The guy from earlier answered. "Your using movie quotes now?" I responded. "What do you mean?" He asked. "Phone Booth. 2002." I said. "Alright. Ya got me." He chuckled. "Look what do you want?" I asked getting up. "Something that you can't give me," He paused. "But dear Zoe can." He chuckled again.
"I swear to god if you fucking touch her." I growled. "You'll do what? You don't even know who I am, what I look like." He finished. "Also, she must really like the color pink." He said. "What?" I asked confused. "Look at all of these clothes. Slut wear is what I like to call them." Then it hit me.
He's in Zoe's room. I ran to my door and left my room. I ran downstairs and to Zoe's room. I opened it to see no one. "You fucker where are you?" I put the phone back to my ear. "Ya know, it's not safe for Zoe to be left alone. Look at her. Smooth hair, perfect skin, the right body shape. I wonder what she feels like inside." He finished.
I growled loudly and ran back upstairs. I went into my room and saw Zoe sitting on my bed looking worried. I ran to my closet and looked inside. No one. I brought the phone back to my ear. "Stop fucking with me!" I yelled. He laughed. "But why? It's so much fun." He laughed again.
By now I was shaking. "Jesus you like your about to explode. I bet the urge to just find me and kill me is getting stronger by the minute." He said. "Oh you have no fucking idea." I said angrily. "Welp look at that. Time's up. Expect a call tomorrow." He said. "No you listen here you fu-" he hung up.
I turned my phone off and sat it on the desk. "Who was that?" Zoe asked coming towards me. "Nobody." I said which caused her to growl. "Fernando! I'm tired of hearing that answer! You're really starting to piss me off! Now Who! Was it!" She demanded. I sighed. "I don't know. Someone who's trying to get to you." I went to my window. "What do you mean?" She asked. "The person on the phone knew your name. Knew exactly what you look like." I closed the blinds.
"How?" She said. "I don't know. Apparently he wants something from you that I can't give him. And I know exactly what it is." I locked my door. "Papi." I ignored her. "Papi." I sighed and look at her. "¿Si mi amor?" I crossed my arms. "I hate to see you worry." She said. I looked down.
"Hey. Look at me." I slowly looked up. "I'm right here. Safe with you. Nothing will happen to me. I promise." She held her arms out. I walked over to her and hugged her. "I promise." She said. I pulled back and grabbed her hand. I kissed it and placed it on my cheek.
Then it hit me. "Tomorrow's Monday isn't it?" I asked knowing the answer. "Yep." Zoe said. I groaned. She giggled and kissed my forehead. "You'll live." She said and laid down. I sat at my desk and stared at her. "Coming to bed?" She asked. "Yeah. Just have to finish something for tomorrow." I pretended to get on my laptop. "Hurry. I need you next to me." She said and I scoffed. "Yeah right. You'll be asleep in five minutes." I said. "Will not." She gasped. "Will to." I said lowly.
I let five minutes pass and heard Zoe snoring lightly. I chuckled softly and closed my laptop. I walked over to my bed and gently laid next to her. She put her arm around me and laid her head on chest. I smiled and drifted off into sleep.
Dream
I sat up and looked around. I was in the same grass field as before. I stood up and looked around. There she was. "Welcome back." The Moon Goddess smiled. I bowed. "I wanted to ask you. Who is this man on the phone?" I looked at her. "His name is Phoenix. He works with hunters." She said. I sighed.
"This 'war' that you warned me of, when will it happen?" I asked. "Not sooner than you think." She said. "So is Phoenix a wolf?" I asked, looking at he ground. "Well, sort of. He's half wolf." She tried to explain. "Aren't we all?" I asked. "Oh boy. How do I put this? He has the powers of a wolf. Enhanced speed, strength, sight. And the list goes on. But, he can't actually shift into a wolf.
