- Aidan's POV -
- PARKER'S HOUSE, Wednesday, 6:00 PM -
I hear footsteps getting louder.
Parker opens the door and approaches me.
"Are you still okay?" He asks, rubbing my back to comfort me.
I nod slowly and let time pass by with silence.
After a while, Park speaks up.
"Come down, now. I'll make dinner for us to eat, alright?" He mutters, before helping me stand up and bring me down.
"It still hurts, but I can take it. I can walk." I gently push Parker to let myself walk downstairs.
We got downstairs and I sat on the couch while Parker prepares things to cook.
I'm kind of glad he's cooking for me.
Parker can be a good cook.
He learned it from his father, who is a chef.
While waiting, I turn on the television to watch something.
While searching for channel, I came across the news channel.
The camera pans over to my house, showing policemen kicking the door to my door.
I look at the television to my surprise.
The female reporter speaks up while the clip plays.
"This just in, Mr. Joan Harrison, has been arrested after months of abuse to his co-workers and to his family." The female reporter states, showing my stepfather getting handcuffs on his arms after police barge into our house.
"The police will be investigating the scene for a few days for evidence of this person's actions."
The television pans to our house blocked with police tape.
After hearing all of that, I immediately called mother about this.
She picks up, feeling lucky that she answered.
"Mother, when can we come back to the house?" I ask, feeling anxious of what I saw on the television.
"Don't worry, Aidan. The police will inform us when it is safe to come back to the house." She answers, making me feel relieved.
"Okay, mother. I hope you're alright." I mutter, slightly panting onto the phone.
"Don't worry. I'm okay. The neighbor is very nice." I feel calmer now that I hear that.
"Alright, mother. I'll be going now. Bye, I love you." I say, smiling as she returns the favor and hangs up.
After that, Park calls me and looks at me concerned.
"What happened back there, bro?" He asks, holding the pan with his hand.
"My stepfather got arrested, and they're investigating in my house for a few days." I say, sitting down on the couch.
"Oh, so you'll be staying here?" He guesses, giving a cheeky face.
I laugh and nod.
He serves the food on a plate.
I pick up a plate and head on over to the couch to watch television and eat.
Honestly, I feel much better now that he's gone.
My suffering from him is over.
