Once the bell rang for the end of the day, I gathered my stuff and walked to my locker, away from my History class. I put tomorrow's books inside my locker and put today's books in my bag. I closed my locker and walked to the main doors of the building. As I walked out, I pulled my coat closer to my body. I decided to ring Delilah and ask her for a lift.
"Hey." She answered the phone after a couple of rings.
"Hi, erm, could you give me a lift please? It's really cold." I felt my teeth chatter together and I heard chuckle a little.
"Okay, but you're gonna have to stay inside school for a bit. I have an after school class."
"Well the school locks up the library doors about now, so I'll be in the library down the street."
"Sure, I'll be in the car park waiting. I'll ring you when I'm leaving school." I said goodbye and ended the call. My parents didn't want me getting a car 'so soon' in their own words. I keep on telling them that I have to stop using Delilah for transportation. I thought for a moment as I walked to the library, and decided to call my mom.
"Hello?"
"Hi mum. Can you come and pick me up please?" I asked and I heard her sigh in the background.
"Why can't you get Delilah to do it?"
"She's got an after school class. She won't be done for another hour."
"Okay, where should I get you?" Se finally gave in and I almost talked her ear off with my thank yous.
"The library." She said alright grudgingly and hung up the phone. I knew that Del's class had already started, so I texted her instead.
Me: hey there delilah. I called Mum and she said she would come and pick me up. I don't want you using your money on petrol and about 75% of it being from me. Xx
I sent the message and waited for her reply. After finally getting to the library, I saw that my mum was just about to pull up. I got a text from Delilah also, at the same time.
Delilah: Oh okay that's fine. Call me later?xx
Me: Sure thing. Have a good class xx
I sent the message and opened the car door to let myself in. I looked over to my mum and gave her a quick hug.
"How was school today?" She asked me, once I did up my seatbelt and then she drove away from the library.
"My day was alright. What about you? Good day at work?"
"Yeah, it was okay. This person that I'm training is very cocky." She sighed and she turned the corner.
"Shame."
"Any homework today?" Mum asked me.
"Yeah, I have art, chemistry and geography homework." I told her and she said 'ahh'. Once we turned down the corner of our street she began to slow down, until she pulled into our driveway. We both got out of the car and she locked it. I opened the front door and waited for mum to walk in and say thank you.
"Thanks." She came inside and put her shoes to one side, then covering her feet with the fluffiest socks I could have possibly ever seen.
I ran upstairs and envelope myself into the covers as I did my homework, with a Disney movie playing in the background.
