I sat with my elbows rested on my knees, rubbing my hands together to keep away the slight chill. Ethan's clothes were folding neatly beside me on the moss covered log, I bounced my legs as I waited for him. As soon as we came to the forrest, Ethan stripped and ducked behind a grove of trees to shift. But he's been back there for almost ten minutes and I'm growing impatient.

"Ethan what's wrong? Is the big bad wolf nervous?" I called out from my perch. I heard a deep resonating growl in response and I laughed. Ethan finally sauntered out into the sun on four legs, the beams of light made his grey fur shine. He thick luscious coat glimmered the closer he walked towards me before coming to a stop at my feet. Ethan laid down in front of me on his stomach and rested his giant head on his paws.

I reached my hand out and rubbed my palm against his back, he hummed. Ethan's wolf head leaned into my touch but I noticed he was sort of vibrating.

"Are you seriously purring?" I said. Ethan laughed and the happy sound echoed through our mind link. I felt pressure building, a sign he wanted to talk so I mentally opened up the shared channel.

"And so what if I am? Your touch feels glorious" He said. Ethan's low and seductive voice hinted at his amusement.

"Shh we came out here so I could meet your wolf. Give me the Alpha please" I said, flicking up his flappy ear jokingly. Ethan rolled his eyes and I smiled at his theatrics, I don't think I've ever seen a wolf with sass.

There was an eerie silence in my mind and Ethan's mental presence disappeared. I sensed the channel close as he gave control over to the Alpha inside him. Ethan's eyes fluttered shut and when he opened them again, the red color bled into maroon darkness that made me shiver. I closed my eyes as well, my usual amber orbs glowed gold and bright like they embodied tiny fragments of the sun within them.

The Alpha before me rose from the ground to his full height, standing about six feet tall and towered over my smaller frame. He raised his head, chin jutting out with pride as he looked me over. I wanted to flinch under his unwavering gaze but I held my solid stance. Finally he let out a rumbling growl in approval, obviously pleased with me as his mate.

I sighed in relief, my greatest fear of my mate not accepting me vanished and I was left with only the content feeling of peace. I sank to my knees on the forrest pine needles and ignored the stabbing pain. I titled my head to the side and bared my neck in a sign of submissive for my Omega to his Alpha. The exposed flesh of my neck throbbed quickly with my erratic heartbeat, emitting my scent in a concentrated draft directly to him. My Alpha's snout twitched, I could feel Ethan's mind grow heavy and cloudy with desire for me, prompted by my sweet smell.

He sniffed the air dense with our combined scent trails and licked his muzzle, wetting his fur to absorb the pheromones my Omega released. I whimpered in pain, my head was bent at an odd angle to expose as much skin to my Alpha as I could. He noticed my discomfort and grumbled, letting me relax my posture. I stared into his eyes and our souls connected through the meaningful gaze. We entangled our psyches and my human side slipped away as the Omega in me gained dominance, I took a backseat in my own mind.

When he looked into my eyes, he gave me his heart and his devotion. We weren't even touching yet with his presence alone peeling away the layers directly to my heart, I've never felt anything more intimate. I didn't feel this bonded with him even when we mated. Something about the way he's looking into my very core made me feel safe in baring my soul to him. My heart yearned to put a name with our protector and my Omega agreed. Together we sent a nonverbal message through the air particles which my mate understood clearly. Words would never be needed between us, we are but one mind.

" I've had many names over the centuries, with this human Ethan I am called Onyx" He said through our mind link, his wolf face showing the fondness he held for Ethan, his other half. I knew something about Ethan's power was unusual, now I know its because he has an old wolf.
